playing Doom II i got all the way upto the final stage. i
remember even shootin the inside of the walls forehead where
the monsters were coming out from. after numerous times of
failing i find out later in the walkthrough what i was
suppose to do. the process to finish the stage was a
fucking joke nobody can figure that out on their own.

and you could not do it without cheats... did you get the
levels with wolfenstein characters and the hanging happy
faces?

no hitler, just the big boss from the end of wolfenstein...
but the happy face guys that are hanging over a hell pit are
nice

You can do the end level without cheats. The hard thing is
firing a rocket down a narrow passage without having it
explode on the wall rather than it's target, romero's
impaled head (idclip to see it).

Questions:

how many difficulty levels?

are there some sort of "mission objectives" (other than
typical find key, hit lever etc ones)?

are there major bosses?

does the player's speed feel relatively slow (in doom2 the
player was running cartoon road runner style everywhere)?

um...

This is finishing it's download at home as I type. OH BABY!
There was about 6 hours of downloading left with a share
ratio of 0.98.
So I can start twatting around on it tonight without feeling
guilty about not having shared it.

If it's good then I won't cancel my pre-order. If it's not
then i will. BAM!

i would buy this, but i'm going to canada in two weeks and
i'm running tight on cash... so, i'm gonna need to live
vicariously through you guys for a month or so.

i'm curious to see how it runs on senior horsefactory's
machine, since it's so similar to mine.

I've told myself that I won't download it but I probably
will... tonight in fact. I'm guessing about 30fps average,
with the 9600 letting the rest of the system down. I'm
probably gonna get an x800 soon, I just need to decide which
is the best one to go for.

truth be told, i've not been much of a gamer, so i went
light on the videocard, but as d3 got closer and closer i
got more curious.

now i'm sorta kicking myself for skimping.

is the one, right? I just think that
although nvidia have got the edge over ati for doom3, the
x800 will be better overall.

I jsut got my 9800 Pro. Only as a holding graphics card
until I know which is the best for HL2. BAM! The 9800 will
suffice for now. Shit, I got a benchmark at 300fps on
something, what more can I wnat?

The Xbox version has co-op over Live, and I hear the modding
community has done/will do the same thing for the PC
version. And I'm pretty sure there's deathmatch. Don't worry
about that.

i have a laptop, 2.66ghz p4, 512mb ram (best kind of ram,
whatever that was at the time 6 months ago), 64mb G4,
I can run UT2004 with maxed out graphics on 1024x728, I
believe I will be able to run Doom 3, but I don't expect it
to look too great.

what does "Copy over the Cracked Exe from CD1 located in the
/Crack dir" actually mean?

Browse the CD.
It sounds like there should be a '/Crack' directory
(folder).

Inside there is probably some sort of cracked .exe,
you probably have to copy it off the cd into your Doom 3
directory

There's a Doom3.exe in the crack directory. Copy that over
the top of the one in the directory it installed in.
Otherwise it'll ask for the CD.

I haven't played it yet, because a fuck load of work went
into making this game, and for once I'm going to do the
right thing and buy it rather than just ripping off hundreds
of hours of hard work... besides mostly every game I
currently own is stolen/pirated so I figure I'll buy
something for a change (this goes for HL2 as well).

I'll be buying it for sure now though. Everything works
sweetly. I'm going to check what it looks like on Ultra
Quality tonight. I put the setting on there and it said it
didn't recommend it. I said OK anyway. You have to restart
though and I just wanted to play straight away last night.

I tried to download it, but the torrent (DOOM3-RELOADED)
said you needed to register at torrents.lv - I tried but
they only accept registrations from that domain. I'm
probably just being dumb but I'll wait until it's out now,
I'm gonna get that 6800GT OC as well.

lokitorrent has it and I got it from somewhere called the
piratebay. I can't remember the address of that one. You
don't need to register but it seems you download faster if
you od. The site is in German or something. I can't remember
but you an login as giginger with the password ginger. I
made it that because its simpler yo! If only all passwords
were that simple.

damn! It seems like they've gone "ooh! we've invented a new
way of doing lighting in games! let's overuse it!" and then
they've probably forgotten about the rest of the game... sad
when things like that happens... I've played many games and
seen many movies that suffer from this syndrome...
