Nothing quite like it.

Here here.

Honestly at this point VS is the only artist who's releases
I look forward to. All of the so-called classic electronic
artists have run out of ideas.

Chocolate Wheelchair rules - his best release on Planet-Mu
in my opinion. The remix is Motley Crue is particularly
satisfying as is Epidermis, my favourite track of the past 2
years.

I (personally) think Snares' music is about 5+ years ahead
of its time...

hahaha I bet you are still looking forward to the millennium
in 5 years time...

"Just slam this baby in your CD player or play it from
winamp, boost the volume and enjoy."

Exactly. Throw it in the deck in your car and take a ride.
It's great like that.

I appreciate the complexity of it all, as well. His stuff is
fun to listen to.

Nah I thought that was pretty much shit as well, maybe even
more than CW. There are a few good tracks on everything he
releases. And I like the Salt EP but he isn't consistent
enough. Maybe I don't get his humour on some of his tracks
which would obviously effect the way I think of it, I think
the vocal samples he uses are cheesy and stupid. I still
stand by all the stuff I wrote above.

bit of vsnares. more of a find candace fan, to be honest.
and i think witboas has some great moments on it...(though i
swear to god there is a direct skinny puppy rip on it
somewhere -- just can't quite place it).

okay, i love doll doll doll, find candace, and giant alien
force... how do the chocolate wheelchair and winter in the

that they're a bit different.

btw - HUGE CHROME CYLINDER BOX UNFOLDING is on the
planet-mu site and the samples sound pretty cool to me.

the 'Stupid Chocolate Wheelchair' album and 'Winter in the

the spectrum.

'Chocolate Wheelchair' is more 'Higgins Ultra Low...'
style,
and 'Winter in the Belly of a Snake' is cold, more minimal,
bleak.

i dont like snares...it just too lame with all the
darkness, evil and the covers are just so "ooh..look,..im so
scary"...his music doesnt progress..there is no flow..just
fast drum progamming and a few odd samples (usually of the
lame "scary" type)..the melodies are shit..and i just fail
to see what's the fuzz is about...sure, i understand that he
knows how to program and produce..but composing isnt his
thing...

kthxbye

don't like him either...

almost everything sounds like a "reaktor ensemble" which
generates random noizes, chopped-beats and so on...
no feeling, no emotion, no structure... just a bunch of
noizes!

Will people just accept that we all have different tastes
and shut the fuck up?

I'm tired of the same old arguments about him being
untalented, that his work has no emotion (ever heard of
anger? that's an emotion too you know) and worst of all his
beats are 'random'... get the fuck out of my face with that
shit.

You're just in denial...it is commonly accepted now that my
taste is the only taste that matters.

Far enough his beats aren't random...but they might as well
be because he doesn't let them flow.

Also do you really think his music is angry???

chocolate wheelchair is probably tied with higgins for me. i
love all the ragga stuff and those two albums have the most
of it. i don't like songs about my cats much at all. also
most of the dark ambient stuff just doesnt have much of an

Snares sounds like a Squarepusher rip off. Remove all the
pretty melodies and jazzyness of Squarepusher, replace the
amen drums with harsh headache samples driven faster than
fuck, and viola! you have Venetian Snares.

He has a few good songs, but please. This shit gets real
old, real fast.

Snares music reminds me of some Goth kid who has a
reasonable amount of intelligence but he tries to hard to be
'different' by dressing up in black all the time and
forcefully being 'hardcore/dark' because everone 'normal'
cant stomach 'hardcore'.
