My parents won a ZX81 in 1981 when I was 3. Started
programming when I was 4, so computers have never really
been a novelty to me, just some shit like a TV, which is why
I hate them.

amstrad cpc 464 (built in tape deck and green screen) was my
first own computer brand new which i got for xmas (86/87
probably or the year after)

i still have it plugged in in my studio next to me in full
working order even if it does take 10 mins to load a game)
but i had a big up apple b4 that from my dads architecture
firm from the early eighties which i now don't have which i
was given when they upgraded in the early eighties with that
tennis game with the blocks on ... that's all i did with it,
i was very small ... i was lucky my parents were into the
fact computers were useful and got me one early ... i've had
loads in between esp consoles but there are some i jus gotta
keep cos they have such sentimental value tho like the
amstrad my first performa my first powerbook ...

what i'm waiting for is my first quantum ... that will be
the most insane day of my life : ) fingers crossed ...

1987 - Atari 65XE , tapes with games, but fuckin "NOBODY
MOVES" or the game will not run - you wish to see me with my
mates sitting like stones without breathing for 30 minutes
to upload some shit called "Ninja Commando" or "River Raid"

do you know how cheap you can buy old games at
charity/antique/car boot sales etc these days for old
machines ... insane like 5 for a £ !! they used to sell
cheap games in my newsagents bak in the day for my amstrad
... a little rack by the till ... that was heaven, sweets
and games ... what i'd do to have it all again ; ) i'm
pretty sure knowing me i'd make all the same choices and get
back to here but it's the rest of the world i'm worried
about, it would depend on so many choices being made again
that were blatantly wrong the first time and only just
happened ... damn the whole chaos / cause an effect theory
... let's hope there's a big crunch and we go in reverse ...
all get resurrected and live back our lives and get to
recherish those moments again without having to lose who we
are / become eh ... it's gotta be our only shot ... maybe
whilst we are in reverse we can find a way of ensuring we
end up bak again somehow and create a giant loop all so we
can all live for a few million years out of the billions it
takes to loop again ... unless some other intelligent race
comes into existence before the loop is finished but after
us and fuck with our plans but then again if they didn't
they too would get trapped in the loop i guess ... guess
we'll just have to wait and see ...

; )

Atari 1040 STe, with 4MB ram and an external SCSI 90MB HD...
1987

Tried to get into music using TCB Tracker... could never
figure out how to get a decent drum loop going. :\

It also had a 2400baud modem that I would get on the BBSes
with...

ZX Spectrum, I won an award wiv prgam I built for it back
when I was 11. Made it make sounds even though it had no
sound capabilities. Fucking loads better than any current
software, I reckon.
