You know, if you search in google for Aphex Twin, this site is the second site returned... that's how I found it, it used to be the first... Jedi Chris: Have you listened to Boards of Canada? Their music is soothing, and gorgeous man... check it out if you haven't... some suggestions are An Eagle in Your Mind, Roygbiv, Music is Math, Julie and Candy, The Beach at Redpoint, Amo Bishop Roden, and A Beautiful Place Out in the Country... :) |

Jedi Chris: No offense man, but I don't know what you are doing here. The chat here circulates around (and more often than should strays from) the topic of electronic music. But even when it strays, its usually the ideas, stories, & values of people who are into electronic music, particularly Aphex Twin's (if you don't like his in particular that is understandable, this is a hub for all sorts of music). I don't know how many people there are like you on this board, and this is probably the meanest thing I've ever said to anyone on this board, but it is worse off for having them. If there's a few things you find tolerable, maybe (as funkmaster admirably attempts), but if you have been exposed to and genuinely don't like or have interest in electronic music, I don't think you should be here. |

Thanks! There are a few here that like to discriminate, you know - that fact that I'm 'different' when it comes to what I think of electronic music, but thats up to them...you'll learn this for yourself when you get to know some of them. I just ignore them. I was shown this site by a friend first when I hadn't even heard of Aphex, and was then leant some cds. Thinking back on it, maybe I shouldn't have used the word 'hate' in this topic.....its just that his music isn't for me! |

That's true, its just that this community sometimes needs more music discussion and less food-fight threads, I don't know how Jedi Chris would be able to contribute to the former, and as descriminatory as it may be, like I said above, I usually come here to hear other thoughts by people who enjoy electronic/idm/aphex, even if the thread isn't specifically about it. I'm just glad noone else responded "I'm also just here to talk", because if so they might as well be in an AOL chat room, or talking to people in real life (there's lots of them, just so very few that like electronica). |

I like Jedi Chris... he seems like a nice enough guy (although, and bit meaner recently :) ), and yes, he did set me up with this sweet lightsabre pic, so I can't complain... We can't force him to love electronic music, and he doesn't go spamming about other stuff, so he's a good guy in my books... |

I have actually....I've got a copy of 'Music has the right to Children'. I have to be honest and say, its quite good....I've listened to it a few times. I prefer BOC to Aphex. (as to the Xmas card....Jedi Chris never forgets his friends!) |

I have over 2,000 points at the N'sync messageboard :) I don't really care if Jedi Chris likes electronic music or not. I think Xanatos has a point, although it is rare if ever that Jedi Chris post's about music. I'm not surprised about Jedi Chris disliking most electronic music, he has mentioned it before. If Jedi Chris was just posting "electronic music sucks" "your all idiots for liking Aphex etc" then kick him off! But he doesnt. I've enjoyed a lot of his post's and think the messageboard IS better for having him. Aphex Twin is music that is so very varied. And just like the music the messageboard is like that too! People that don't even really like the music are here. And ultimately that's a huge compliment to this site. He doesn't really like the music but the intelligent conversation, humour and excellent people keep him here. |
