brazil and germany are the two teams that have played more
matches in the history of world cups... but they had never
met in a world cup... this is the first brazil -germany ever
in history... huge match indeed.

they have never played against in a world cup match ...
neither the final, semifinal, 1/4, 1/8 or the first
mini-league

there has never been a germany - brazil in a world cup.

they have played in other occasions, but never world cup

but all this times werent in a world cup.

besides each team has played so far 6 finals of the world
cup, so considering they have never met, this means that...
in 12 of the 16 world cups so far one of them was in the
final... this is gonna be a great match... a great end for a
strange world cup.

last two matches they played brazil won, and i think they
have pretty big chance of winning again
tho anything could happen

I think brazil can do it... germany could too, but there is
a lot of difference player by player

ballack not beeing able to play, is quite a problem for
germany

well germany´s way of playing is very simple...they just
try to get some corners or free kicks, so they can go and
score with the head... they can do it without ballack
(though I think they will miss him)

you got it...
no matter who plays better...germans win most of the
times... they have played 6 finals so far (as many as
brazil) but they lost one more (against england in england
66, against argentina in mexico 86 and against italy in
spain 82)
the thing is that they are highly competitive

present for his long football career.

Rivaldo has been a total shit with all his cheating, FIFA

Who are the strong / weak links in Brazil v Germany ?

Germany>Strengths>

Kahn (9) awesome presence
Metzelder (8) New to me, but very impressive
Schneider (8) very effective and assured
Hamann (8) excellent midfield anchor
((Ballack (9) suspended-scores key goals))

Weaknesses>
Neuville (6) very average, low goals ratio
Klose (6) only seems agressive in the air
Jancker (5) desperately poor

BRAZIL>Strengths>
Cafu (8) Amazing workrate for a 32 year old
Carlos (9) solid in all areas of the pitch
Ronaldo (9) back near his very best..lethal
Ronaldinho (9) amazing bag of tricks
Rivaldo (8) cultured, but has revealed a nasty side to his
game

WEAKNESSES> I think none, their defeding is better than
people have said.

So overall I like Brazil more, thay have more great
goalscorers and I think they can do it !

brazil in 1970 or 1982 had the best players (as now) but
they also were the best team, they had their own style...
brazil lacks of style now... they are lethal whan attacking,
and it is true they defend quite good... but they dont work
as a team... it looks that each player wants to finish the
game himself... few of them have a real collective vison of
football... one clear example is rivaldo...there are so many
times he could pass, but he just ends by himself... I like
ronaldo, cos he is very powerfull but he also has a good
sense of team... if more players in brazil had this view
brazil would be just one of the best teams in history...but
it isnt

I haven't seen great teams play very well this year.

**woofer**>
most common results in this world cup>

after 90 minutes>
1-1= 12 (2 of which were 2-1 after Golden goal)
1-0 win for favourite = 9
2-0 win for favourite = 7
0-1 win for underdog = 6
2-1 win for favourite = 5 (7 including Golden gol)

If you base it on score @ 90 minutes go for>

Korea 1-1 Turkey
Brazil 1-1 Germany

If it is based on the FINAL score go for>

Korea 1-0 Turkey
Brazil 1-0 Germany

But its best to trust yourself, as U are so good at
predictions !!

neurone said:

"the shittiest topic"

why did you come to that conclusion?
and why is a thread popular by the number the posts in it?
maybe, hundreds of posts in this thread were made by people
like you, saying this was the shittiest topic... so it was
you who really made it this large.
because this thread indeed is large, but popular? just 4 or
5 members post regularly here, so it is not really a popular
topic.

besides... who are you to determine that this is the
shittiest topic?

maybe the fact of you being french could explain it.

dont post here if you dont like it...its easy

all right I should not say this is shit topic because I
didn't read more than 3 lines in it.

it's just that I 'm not fond with (tv) footbal.
and yes nobody cares.. so, excuse me.

by the way, smokehammer, I enjoy that the french team get
kicked out of the championship, because here in france
everybody get crazy with them since they win the last
one,, they put Zidane & Dessailly 4m x 6m posters all over
the cities, and you see shitload of commercials spot with
french players, and then you see them playing and you say
'well, they should train instead of make all that tv
shit)

I'm not proud of the french team, you now... it's crap.

I admit I had fun watchin senegal or korea playing.

well said neurone
French people have never had the love of football that the
English, Spanish or Italians do

I think they became VERY arrogant after winning the world
cup in '98, and now nobody seems to care once more. Why is
French club football so poor ? Because there's not many
supporters...
