took two listens before I was convinced but I think its
quite excellent the whole way through. Wasnt sure about this
stripped down version of Nude at first but actually its
perfect this way. i didnt hear any other bootlegs though and
from all the whinging it sounds like i made a good move
there.

There are quite a bit of BoC inspired/references on this
record. The children on 15 Step being the most notable, but
also the bass/synth on All I Need and the drums on Videotape
remond me of the film projector as is on BoC's Kid for
Today...there are also a few other synth washes and keyboard
tones that are reminiscent of Boards as well, not that this
is a bad thing at all. But its not surprising as they have
name checked Autechre in the past. The rhythm of 15 Step
reminds me a bit of ae as well. Overall, its a great record
worth the wait so far. It feels much more cohesive than HTTT
and back to the album-oriented roots of OK and Kid A, I just
wish it was a tad longer.

also, the drums at the end of videotape is quite a lot like
gyroscope...

that there are quite is quite a bit of Boards on this
record...

some other guy mentioned boc influences too, i don't hear
much of BoC in it at all... i think that's a really deep
rhodes in all i need after a few listens. the 15 step one
beat reminds me as much of autechre as anything else, it's
really just an electronic beat. warp artists didn't invent
electronic music.

Conclusions after 3rd listen:
last four songs are really good, especially 'Jigsaw...', but
I'm afraid first half of the album didn't live up to my
expectations, at all. No song here can match the mastery of
'There there', 'Where I End And You Begin' or 'A Wolf At The
Door' from the previous album. I have a strong feeling they
didn't go 100% with this. The songs are quite conventional,
Yorke's vocal lines, which used to be great and deeply
moving at times, now are sometimes lost in self-indulgence
(Faust Arp), or seem plainly uninteresting to me. Enough
bitchin'.

All in all HTTT > In Rainbows as far as the structure of
songs goes. So far.

I'm still not sold on it. Although I was unsure about Hail
To The Theif for the first few weeks.

It may be the first and last download I ever pay for
(7pounds!!!)

to the people complaining about paying for the download in
retrospect, there was an element of risk involved since no
preview of the goods was available prior to purchase (even
though we all knew roughly what the tracks would end up
sounding like). im surprised this has gone unmentioned to
be honest. however, to pay over £5 for 10 download tracks
is mildly insane when you consider the usual band/label cut
of the profits is around 30/70. im not suggesting bands
dont deserve a better deal from album sales, rather that
radiohead have made a handsome fortune out of traditional
label record sales. i cannot begin to imagine how much
money the inrainbows download has made...

HTTT is way better after a few years, but still not up to
the quality of usual Radiohead output. In Rainbows is.

It's surely a grower. I came to it cold turkey not knowing
any of the songs in their live incarnation. At first
nothing stood out to me by way of being an "iconic" track,
but as a whole I find the album fairly enjoyable.

I'm looking forward to hearing the additional discbox tracks
(as their leak will be inevitable), since the album seems
somewhat short as is.

I paid zero for the album. Whether it was intentional or
not, I respect the fact that the honor payment system
challenges outdated models. However, I think it is
ridiculous to pay for anything less than 192kbps without
ever hearing a proper "single." If they end deciding to
press the disc after the first of the year and include those
other tracks on there, I would probably buy it.

I love ''All I Need'' a LOT. Such depth, such pathos.
''Jigsaw Puzzle blabla'' sounds really MTV-ready, in good
way. Like the OK Computer songs were.

im finally appreciating videotape. the studio version
somewhat more darker and depressing than it ever was live. a
fitting song to finish the amazing album that it is.

ofcourse i dont like guitar music were on an excellent
electronic music message board

guitar music is just for low life hippies
theres really no point in making guitar music because theres
not any progression or innovative things you can make with
it

i think all music not electronic should be forbidden
so that we can have some new revolutions music wise

For some reason, I can't get enough of 15 step. I love the
bass work in it. The drum sounds are nice, if a little
repetitive. the bridge at the end is cool. I expect the
other tracks to grow on me in the next few weeks, but as of
right now I've been overdosing on 15 step.
