a little while ago a Dutch magazine ran a photospread with
boys and girls from around 10 years, who do not want to be
the sex they are.

and the great thing about the pictures was that they looked
like th sex they wanted to be. incredible photo's.

Research has shown that apart from hormone levels that can
be pharmaceutically dealt with gender mendality has a mostly
memetic basis. Ofcourse we have knowledge of a tiny part of
the human brain and hormonal system and research has been
wrong many times throughout the years.

no but, that would, depending on what you changed, make a
different sperm join the egg. Also that complex "crossing
over" genetic stuff would chaotically go about in a
different way, but half of the chromosomes would be
different than before anyway because of the sperm... so
maybe you'd have black instead of blonde hair or some shit..
but would you even feel like you were you in this case.. or
would someone else be you..? It would be the same egg
in just one day, so the initial thing that "you" were is
still you.. ah forget it, I don't know enough about the
process of growth.
But say your parents aborted you, you'd still be that egg,
maybe a bit developed, but end up in a trash can or toilet
or whatever they do with aborted fetuses with no
consciousness. but that would be you, you just wouldn't
develope further. well things grow by eating, and cells
dividing (I'm not sure how cells divide really, I know the
dna splits and collects the new A's G's C's and T's from
somewhere).. but that's just the dna, cells somehow
add bulk to themselves to replicate themselves, by "eating"
maybe.

Arguably, changing pre-pubescent kids gender through
hormones/sex change ops would be far more effective (and a
more convincing result) than when it is done to a fully
grown adult.

However! There are a myriad of reasons why that should never
be allowed: Sick parents putting pressure on a kid (say they
always wanted a little girl...), kids may just be confused
(ie a phase they're going through), they may just be gay and
may mistake this for wanting to be a member of the opposite
sex, children that young can't give sexual consent- arguably
having a sex change is even more serious (they aren't
exactly reversible). there are plenty of cases of adults
being given a sex change too quickly and then self
harming/suiciding.

The very fact that at least one person disagrees with the
original statement negates it. It is pointless even trying
to argue. You can't argue with logic.

I know a girl that actually got pregnant from anal rape
because the guy tore a hole through her colon just under her
cervix. And strangely enough, she also got Gonorhhea. I'm
mentioning this because I dont understand how even after
things like this happen to people, Most Pro-Life types (the
ones who operate from an archaic religious perspective)
choose to ignore the fact that not everyone shares their
beliefs, and that things like this happen.

I dont want to start an argument over Abortion, but I do
think that denying a womans right to choose is a pretty
shallow thing to do. Theres even a shallow stupid part of me
that I'm working on who wants to run over the MEN who are
against abortion. After a slight pregnancy scare with a guy
that I had broken up with who thought I was pregnant (never
was) accused me of aborting "HIS" child. He had a mindset
that women were only the receptacle to the products of men.
He had at least 8 of his friends jump me when I was
delivering pizza's last year. And I've never even BEEN
pregnant.

I need to keep an open mind about this, contrary to past
experiences, so what are you guy's thoughts on abortion, and
other sorts of contraceptives. What do you think should
happen in the future?

Since the western society is so fluffy and sweet I bet they
will make laws for that. I know there are psychiatrists
specialising in that department. You have to go through
psychiatric tests to have a sex change.

There's really nothing I can do about it. The only thing on
me that really got hurt was my lower leg and ankle. I broke
it and walked on the fucker for 6 months without going to
the hospital. I have to wear a gel cast at night, and thats
it. It could have been alot worse, and I aint complaining.
So much more could have gone down.

You have to accept the idea that men have some degree
of "ownership" over (even unborn) children... now, whether
that is half or less than half is another matter, but if the
child is solely the woman's, men should not have to pay
child support.

The fact is that abortions can lead to horrible hormonal
disturbances for the woman. They have also been incriminated
for cancer in the uterus (I think).

Are you a lawyer or something? Or studying to become one? In
my opinion, homosexuality is but one shadow of the
underlying sickness in modern humans. Sickness implies
unhealthy and that's what I mean I suppose. I'm not implying
that I hate homosexuals, just that the behavior seems
evolutionarily or psychologically fucked. Some frogs
apparently change sex, but that's ingrained in their
evolutionary developement. By the way frogs and other
amphibians are declining in modern times, but one
more shadow of the underlying sickness in modern
humans (doubtless they are causing it). But homosexuality is
in no way part of human evolutionary developement. If you go
way way back, females and males at one point branched off
from eachother and began dancing about in some crazy ass
arms races resulting in selected forms which eventually led
to present, .. in other words, females and males have a
common origin (most likely). But after all that evolution,
nothing that wasn't ill would select for same sexes to be
attracted toward eachother. It would be a waste of time
obviously as no reproduction would result. I'm nonsexual
myself, or asexual if you include masterbation. That doesn't
result in reproduction either and indeed it is ill.

Oh of course!! thats why I dont want to start thinking
otherwise out of bitterness. But I do think that MOST of
the 'Ownership' goes to the female, because once the
activities of the body begin, Its half her nutrients, 30%
more of her own body weight added on, and 9 months ending in
excriciating pain. Thats gotta count for something. But
according to recent studies, men might be able to give birth
soon by utilizing abdominal cysts!!!!

Hell, that would shut ME up for sure! Go man babies!

A lawyer? Well....I completly disagree with you and your
views on evolution, but none the less it is an interesting
opinion I guess, perhaps even a theory.

You DO realize that we arent the only species that harbors
homosexuality and sex for pleasure as a part of our
instincts right? just because you believe homosexuality isnt
a thing of the past, doesnt mean that it wasnt a part of our
evolution, and not just some psycosis.

If so, I do study law as part of my degree and I've always
had a keen interest in it. A large number of my
friends/associates are involved in law one way or another,
so it always comes up in discussion amongst my circle of
friends. I like the logical quality of it and draw parallels
between it and computer programming. It's almost like
social-programming (in a good way).

but you all have to see that, in a strictly scientific
sense, homosexuality IS a fluke of evolution, because as wmw
pointed out, no reproduction can occur this way. Pretend for
a minute that we don't live in this world of technology...
there would be no way to artificially reproduce so all
homosexuals would eventually die out... I don't have a
problem with homosexuality, but it must therefore be, as I
said, a fluke of evolution for that reason.

"there would be no way to artificially reproduce so all
homosexuals would eventually die out"

If homosexuality is indeed largely genetic, it follows that
it would have "died out" long ago as some temporary fluke of
evolution. Now, whilst in humans it is reasonable to assume
it has remained around precisely because of the stigma
attached to it (ie people have suppressed their homosexual
urges and had children as a form of denial, thereby passing
on their gay genes), this does not explain why it is still
present in animals. Surely animals (solitary ones at
least)wouldn't care what other animals thought and would
simply not mate "normally"?
