i'm on the second temple in the game.
challenging, but nicely done. sometimes its painfully
obvious what needs to be done in these things after like ten
tries.
i spent atleast an hour just sailing around.
this is the second best game i've played after final fantasy
7. ocarina of time held that spot before.

Another thing that ups the ante : The combat. I'm
never-ever going to get bored of fighting no matter how
tedious the enemies. You can literally FEEL every poke,
smack, and slice... And the animation : Oh God. If I could
type in tongues I would.
ARGHRH!! I can't take it! This game not only lives up to
my impossible expectations but continues to exceed them in
every regard! Metroid and Mario Sunshine were horse apples
compared to this. I hope to Hyrule we get a sequel(re
Majora's Mask)- I would willingly offer up my nubile body in
human sacrifice to appease the pantheon that is Nintendo.

"That's too long mein freund! "

yeah... nintendo is a wonderful company for sure, but they
always treat europe like shit :-(

Why should there be such a long time between US and European
releases? I understand the difference between Japanese and
Us-dates, because it takes time to translate from japanese
to american...

But why does it have to take so long to make a PAL-version?
I just don't understand it... but ohwell... i'll just be
patient ;-)

And thanks for the offer :-p I'll keep that in mind. If i
come, i'll buy a gameboy-advance, and i can assist you in
the zelda-quest and drop those tingle bombs ;-)

what is 726-789-3502 though?

Uhh.. Nothing.

The European issue is strange; I'm sure there's a reasonable
answer though. It's all marketing issues probably. I AM in
need of a Tingle assistant now that you mention it.. Alas,
still no Gameboy SP for Cabbog :( I put in an application at
Radio Shack *cringe* a while back so they should be calling
me soon to tell me I'm hired. Do they really care if you
use your mom as a reference?
Anyway... I just got done playing for another 2 hours and
would like reiterate that this is the SINGLE BEST GAME I'VE
EVER PLAYED. That includes Fallout, Donkey Kong Country,
Secret of Mana, Heroes of Might and Magic II, Master of
Orion, Crusader : No Remorse, Dark Forces, Mario Kart,
Chrono Trigger, Jedi Knight, Morrowind, Skies of Arcadia :
Legends, Halo, Pikmin, Zelda : A Link to the Past, River
City Ransom, Sonic & Knuckles, Mario 64, Interstate '76,
X-Wing, Final Fantasy Adventure, Final Fantasy 3, Metroid
Prime, Tactics Ogre, Starcraft, Diablo II, Half-Life, Deus
Ex, Max Payne, Civilization II, Street Fighter II, Metal
Gear Solid 2, Comand & Conquer II, ... The only game I can
even fathom coming close to it is Warcraft II. That's it.
I'm talking about the initial intensity of the experience
here.
Every puzzle I've encountered so far is incredibly clever
and fun to solve. The animation is the breath of God. The
atmospheres are incredibly detailed.. This game shakes the
very foundation of reality itself!

"so they should be calling me soon to tell me I'm

"

yes, you can probably expect that call any day now :-p

Having a job is nice (well... having a salary is ;-)... and
it also makes you feel good about yourself and stuff like
that).

But you seem like an experienced gamer... if you think of
this game so highly than... wow :-D It must be awesome! I
was in a store the other day, and the gamecube was playing
one of those demo-discs with upcoming games... and that also
featured zelda.

I could not believe how good it looked :-o
Those tiny quicktime-movies on the internet cannot possibly
prepare you to how astonishing it looks on a big screen :-)

But alas... it's back to mario sunshine for me. There are
only two missions left for me to do in there (before i can
go any further), and they both suck :-( (riding a blooper
for red coins in the harbor, and running around a
goop-covered pianta village without the fludd! Jesus
christ, what kind of sadistical programmer came up with
those? :-p).

text at different times of the day. Don't you ever forget

Yeah, I know what you're talking about. I just completed

Mario Sunshine was a big let down for me. I was expecting a
lot more in terms of....everything. Hopefully the next one
will reinvent the wheel like every Mario platform-debut
should.
Metroid Prime was incredible, no doubt about it, but in
comparison to Zelda it's space pirate fodder. Zelda is the
game you buy a Gamecube for. Just like you buy an X-Box for
Halo or a PS2 for Final Fantasy X or GTA3. This game is so
awesome. I'm still having spasms and seizures when I try to
goto sleep..

One piece of advice : I recommend not going back to any of
the islands you've already visited unless you're either
dictated to do so or very far in the game. It can tangle up
the order you were meant to experience certain events in.

p.s. This game is awesome.

72 shines.

And i beat those two missions :-) Apparantly, writing about
my frustration in this thread was all i needed. After that i
went back to my gamecube and beat them fairly easy (after
having been stuck for a couple of days).

That blooper-race was a nightmare... and again... it
frustrates me that nintendo includes that sort of missions.
If i want that sort of gameplay i'll just buy waverace >:-(
Mario is supposed to be a platform game in my eyes...
but oh well... that's just me ;-)

mario sunshine is still an awesome game though... but not
what i expected at all. The tropical theme throughout
does get boring. And (because of it?) the game also
feels relatively small. (small levels, and not very many of
them either).

The fludd is like a dream come true though... and i've
gotten completely used to the camera (hated it first, now i
love having so much control over it). In terms of
playability, i think it's even better than mario64!

I asked my mom for some cash, and she said ''maybe''...
which actually means ''definitely'',and I'll be shocked if
I'm not playing this game tomorrow. Thank... God. She saw
the anguish in my eyes, I think, had to comply with my
demands or else I'd hang myself, that's probably what she
was thinking... because it was almost too easy.

Mario Sunshine is great, but yeah, I HATE the tropical
theme. I HATE it. In real life, I hate sun and beaches, so
why the fuck would I want to run around on sunny beaches in
a game? I miss mountains, snow levels, caves, castles,
deserts, etc.

Still a 5 star effort, but it's shockingly flawed for a
Mario game. I mean... they've ALL been perfect until this
one.

Yeah, hopefully Mario 128 won't have ANY palm trees. Bah!
There's still another Metroid game on the way; Pikmin 2 is
nearing completion as well. It will be fun to play 2-player
- Hopefully you'll be able to battle each other as well as
cooperate. I don't know about Wario World though... It
didn't look all that enthralling in the previews. Still too
early to tell on F-Zero and nothing has been said about
Mario Kart 128 other than that it's in production.

They aren't comparable to Zelda in terms of quality silly,
just in reason for getting said consoles. Personally, right
now Gamecube is my favorite system.. I can see it changing
to Xbox in the upcoming months but right now it's only
Nintendo bed sheets and pillow covers for me!
Is there an unofficial Gamecube magazine? Nintendo Power is
all eye-candy and no substance; It's like it was written for
Playstation owners. The only magazines I trust are
PC-Gamer, XBN, and Inches*. They fuse professional
journalism with that witty self-depreciating humor that
every pastey 19 year old living with his mom can relate
to..

i don't think mario128 will be a proper sequel to sunshine
though. It's supposed to be based on that gamecube demo with
a 128 mario's running around... but wasn't pikmin also based
on that demo? :-s... *confused*
But just from what i've heard, i don't think it'll be a
"real" mario adventure.

Pikmin i love that game :-D (still haven't completed it due
to mario sunshine, but i'll get back to it soon). It's like
a strategy-game, only fun. I can't wait for the sequel, even
if it'll only be more of the same.

Warioworld... i still don't understand why nintendo wants to
put so much energy and promotion into Wario? Wario sucks :-p
They go through all the work of creating lots of 3d-platform
levels... and then they make wario star in it... ridiculous
:-p With a few adjustments, it could have just been a new
mario-adventure which would probably sell twice as much! The
whole concept of Wario is so cheesy... i don't like it at
all. (and didn't they even invent wario's brother called
waluigi for the tennis-game... sweet jesus... "waluigi"! It
sounds like a disease).

Mario Kart will not have online-compatibility. And
miyamoto has said it will feature some ideas "that no one
has thought about before"... so let's hope for the best on
that one then.

I gave up completely on buying videogame-magazines and
music-magazines... ever since i have internet-acces. It's a
waste of money in my eyes. Right now i'm in the proces of
throwing away all my old music-magazines... (there are
hundreds of 'em...) if i think about all the music i could
have bought instead of just reading about it... sigh...

I love Wario! The bad apple of the Nintendo tree.. The

p.s. Zelda : The Wind Waker is the best game ever. Cabbog
gives it 6 out of 5 deku leaves. Right now,

has it averaged as the 2nd highest ranking game of all time
- right behind Zelda : Ocarina of Time and right in front of

internet now :-) It's getting me very excited!

There seems to be alot of complaining about all the sailing
going on in the game... but i don't know... i have a feeling
i'm gonna like those parts. Some reviewers say it becomes
very boring to just sail and do nothing else for several
minutes... but i think it'll give you the feeling of really
traveling a long distance.

Mario sunshine-update: i'm at the final battle with
bowser... but i keep falling down. So i gave up for the
moment and i'm searching for some of those hidden shines (so
far i've got 92). I've actually completed that hidden course
where you have to sail over a toxic river on a leaf and
collect 8 coins! (first you have to take yoshi and jump from
boat to boat until you reach the island with the green pipe
that is blocked with the yellow "stuff"). That was probably
the scariest thing i ever had to do in a videogame! The
controller nearly slipped from my hands because my palms
were so sweaty :-p
