I've been lurking around this community since the goold ol'
aphextwin.nu days so I thought it's time for my 1st post.
I've created (imho a much better than the existing) artwork
for the still unreleased gem "Melodies from Mars". Hope you
like it...enjoy.

Yeah....I'm still a loser.

btw...Artwork is created with the similar design of the SAW
85-92 album.

it's nice
but mfm feels to me like it should be wild colours

Very nice, but I have to partwise agree with big, the music
on melodies from mars are very colorfull imo, no idea how to
add colour to an album cover without making it look too
freaky though, but either way your pics are nice

the grey scale makes it look more like the moon, but it
still looks cool. maybe swap this cover with the sawii
cover.

saw1 meets amber

i had an alternative artwork somewhere, nothing like the two
posted, more like a martian drawing... but i cant remeber...

Yeah, a more sepia-like colour would make it look even more
like mars. Most of my resource images were grey scaled so I
had little choice :) plus my first "input" was the first b/w
cover image for MfM (linked by Phobiazero).

But I also agree to the "gimme wild colours" point: I think
an artwork like the one of the Ambient 4 - Isolationism
Compilation (AMBT4, Virgin, feat. "Aphex Airlines") is a
good example of mixed media, b/w + wild colours without
looking stupid.
Maybe I do another cover for it ;)

That looks pretty cool.

But my favourite MFM artwork is the one used on
Last.fm and Discogs

i agree aswell. the grey doesnt seem right to me. Aside from
that i like it. If it was somehow more red....

they're pretty nice. i like the colours. though i'm not so
keen on the photograph.

i recently have done some for Analogue Bubblebath 5. can't
post a scan though cos it's not so much an image as a
package. optical illusion bubbles, and glows in the dark.

@uzim:

cool artwork, especially the backside looks warm and
organic. there's definitely life on 'your' mars while on
'mine' it's gone :)

btw I bookmarked your website...there's something in your
artworks I appreciate very much but cannot put it into words
yet.

xceque: sounds good... invite someone with a numeric camera
to your place!

betadron: thanks : )

a numeric camera? i'm guessing it's not one that just
photographs numbers.

youve used actual surface images of mars?
i did that for my CD version, i felt like burning my own
shiny little copy to keep with the other albums. i used
images from the NASA rovers.
the original one does it best though, i think
