hi guys, just wanted to ask, which albums grew very much on you? i listened to drukqs now for a very long time. at first i liked tracks like vordhosbn, i liked them since the first listen...but now i like tracks like omgyiya switch 7, cock/ver10, afx237 v7, ziggomatic 17...and the hardcore part from 54 cymru beats is unbelievable. this album is one of the best i've ever heard.
which albums did grow on you that much?

Autechre / Confield.
John Callaghan / I'm Not Comfirtable Inside My Mind
Aphex Twin / SAW II
I actually enjoyed them at first listen, but I have never got tired of them so I think they'll fit into this category. They are just getting better...

'LP5' is prolly my favorite Ae-release so far... it's very complete with only a few weak points. Not bad for an album.

ep7 threw me for ages-didnt know what to make of it-now i love that, and it was a nice audio lubricant for the joys of confield.
black dog's spanners-just hated it, now i love it.
oh and modus operandi by photek-i thought it was directionless, until the penny dropped.
bitches brew-miles davis
i think its good to dislike stuff then fall in love with it-shows that your constantly changing your tastes and appreciations...

Have you got their DJ Kicks mix album? Thats class as well. Its where I first heard Thievery Corp. Those series are good. K7 also put out a series called the Freestyle Files which have some really class stuff on. Check out Peace Orchestra too. They have one of K & D in 'em, can't remember which.

Thievery Corporation is from Washington DC, the new verve compilation is all old verve recordings that influenced them, they dididnt touch the music itself.

Kind of BLue took me a long time to get into, as did Passion... Chiastic SLide was a pretty steady progression, whereas with Kind of BLue and Passion, I bought it, thought it was ok, and then didn't listen to it for months, Chiastic Slide I liked, then liked more, then loved and so on... all in the course of a few weeks...

Nah at times if I reckon there's already 10 multiples of a thread I feel like making, I'll just bump an old one to minimise the spam factor. It's also fun seeing the takes people had of different artists and albums in the site's yesteryears

They're the middleground tracks (in terms of structure, not quality) along with Kladfvgbung Micshk, Prep Gwarlek 3B and Beskhu3epnm that tie the whole album up into a bit more of a package in my ears. Its still disjointed as fuck, but those ones serve somewhere in between the 'beat' tracks and the melodic bits

it happened with icbyd to me, i bought it and i thought it was shit. then two years ago i relistened it and start growing and i learnt to love it. i couldnt believe how i missed the beauty of it. alberto balsalm was just best thing id ever heard...
it was my first electronic album ever.
then i start buying all afx albums, the ae's and other, with similar growing effect.
it was nice when you bought an album and it was all weird and new and you have to learn its sound to appreciate it. it was like discovering a little magic secret treasure. like knowing a girl and slowly knowing her and falling in love :)
its being longtime without experiencing similar feel with an album. the closest thing to it was with last four tet album, and with the moderat one.
