xboxmediacenter.de/info_project.htm

Anyone here tried this?

If so, I would like to hear your opinions about it. I think
it sounds rather radical.

Very interesting, seems to be a jack of all trades and
master of none, though. And with Xbox 360 and PS3 just
around the corner...

no it can't?

i still get plenty of "xbox cannot play this format" errors.
mkv and vcd stick out in my mind as the common culprits.
could be wrong about which ones.

after a bit of further research: i'm streaming things from
one of those home NAS boxes, not windows media player on a
PC. this might effect codec support.

p.s. i mean 360, obv. does anyone still have an original
xbox?

The current stable build of XBMC cannot be installed on an
XBOX 360. Installation on the original XBOX is no longer
supported. If a supported device can push HD, the current
XBMC build should be able to handle it.

I am running it on a RaspberryPi and have great results with
MKV, except for over my wireless network, but that's my
routers fault.

I had an original XBOX up until 2009 with XMBC, a 200GB HDD
and the DVD dongle, had to give up because my SD TV broke,
it was a great setup but now with RaspberryPi you have it
easy plus it can play HD video.

I did XBMC on the original XBOX too. It ran like a champ for
5 or 6 years. The only reason I switched out is because the
hardware just couldn't keep up with newer video standards.

I have an original xbox hooked up, but I have 3 TVs in my
basement with about 7 consoles spread over them, with that
and my PS2 I can watch DVDs on either while playing on my
big screen (a 55" tube pre-HDMI component HD tv that my
inlaws gave us when they upgraded. Perfect classic gaming
tv.)
