the gaudi architecture was really cool check out his "sagrada familia" def. you can't miss it. big alien hive looking church in the middle of town.
I fucking loved Barcelona when i was there last May. my favorite part of my euro trip. great subway. friendly, beautiful people, sunny weather, cheap eats.
also check out the prison castle thing on the hill. the gondola ride to get up there is also a lot of fun.
and i wish i knew where it was but, there was this great Vietnamese resturaunt near the Sagrada Familia that blew my fucking mind!

well, yeah. its one of the best places in the world for tolerated graffiti.
as a result of the tolerated atmosphere, the standard of work goes right up..
you have days to work on a good piece, whereas, in glasgow i got five minutes to do a quick throwup and a few tags because a copcar will roll up and take me to the bootyhouse for the night..

i saw a lot of amazing graf art there, especially along the train tracks. Unfortunately, much of the interior of the towers in the Sagrada Familia is also plastered with grafiti scribblings which was NOT cool!

why do faggots like you actually think graffiti is cool? you should get the death penality as far as i'm concerned ..,,, everywhere in europe some idiot has to spray paint some 1000 year old monument...it's really sad..traveling all that way just to deface a beatiful city... "by tolerating:" graffiti you just condone it really....ps. bacelona is one of the top five cities on planet" how 'bout stoping the spraying paint?>

been 3 times (twice for Sonar) and loved it....
do: - check out the old town - take a day trip out to Salvador Dali's museum @ Figuereze
- discover the record shops hidden around the place - find the beach raves that happen at nightime.... usually about 5/6 beaches north of the city beach
don't: - bother with the "Ramblas" more than once - tacky, pickpockety, and touristy.
- miss Gaudi architecture - forget to post some pics

how about you catch a grip? there is lots of designated areas where you can paint. did i even mention painting 100 year old monuments?...no.
i dont condone those who do, but as far as people painting all over the streets....why not?
i dont see why mcdonalds and fucking microsoft can have their shit logos everywhere when they represent over-consumerism and corporate profit making.
as far as my style of graf goes, is mainly stuff that takes a couple of hours to complete....sometimes entire days and weeks depending on the size of the piece and how elaborate i want to make it.
i'd also point out that thousands of writers travel there to paint, and have been doing so for years, and its hardly made barcelona a less desirable city to go to.
honestly, i hate simple minded wankers like you who just trash graffiti as just scrawlings in a public bathroom when its just as intelligent and advanced as any artform.
in fact, its lack of cencorship has been really welcoming to contemporary artists whose work is too risque to be put on in fancy galleries run by ignorant critics.
"how 'bout stoping the spraying paint?> "
guess what? no amount of your ignorant whining will stop it either. there will always be graffiti. tough shit, asshole.
Taffmonster, evolume, 01010101, nacmat, keyfumbler, cheers for the info. its noted.

:) i live there and i never know what to do... :) dunno... nice pubs at raval neighbourhood. record shops at tallers street. sonar ofcourse... dunno, the best think is just let you go through the streets (specially the old zone: gothic(day) + raval(night)) and discover the nice places by yourself...
:) oh, and write me if you need something!
