Cylob was right the white labels in his mix on his site are
not analord 10 at least. The samples are very interesting. I
thought it was going to be a bit more banging dancefloor
acid /rave all sounds a bit more bedroom brain noodling
electronica. The stuff that most afx fans rave over not the
like rdj album and ICBYD. Not the real deal proper banging
stuff a la caustic/joyrex i.e. UK techno not IDM (American
Stylee).

Is it still not definetly 10 releases? The news item on
Warp's site makes it pretty clear but what do they know.

Anyway, I like Analord 10, I think it is an interesting
style and very well put together. It is more than I had
expected.

maybe people that already got their copies could tell us how
many vinyls are that binder made for?

Nice work Phob.Trying to organise/police this analord sprawl
that is aphextwin.nu, I mean Xltronic.com. Thanks for
getting the samples up a bit zippy.

John Peels favourite record shop in london.Proof

I would take that as definative proof that there is 10
analord eps in total.

12 binder slots.... I'm thinking maybe a couple of them are
double vinyl or something//

Sisteray has got them up at £4.99 a 12". I think it would
be fair to say they are only going to be one slab of vinyl
each. Maybe there is some cool liner paper artwork? or they
are just spare in case you destroy the sleeves being your
most used collection of records?

Just because they've got that list going to 9 doesn't mean
there's only 10. It's a pretty fucking safe bet that if
they've released the tenth in the series that there's a
going to be 9 before it.

If there is more than that they are likely to be of suspect
quality. I would rather have less than more, because in
theory the quality should be higher.

Anyway last time I had a word I said to him not to go
releasing any shit. The next release was Smojphace. Last time
I saw him thought it was best not to have a word all
together, just fed him some whiskey and talked to Grant
instead.

I don't know. Consider how much music he supposedly hasn't
released. Amounting to many hours of stuff. He could quite
easily have dipped into that to bump up the amount of
releases. No-one outside of Rephlex probably knows and if
there is anyone they're probably not saying.

It does not matter how much music he has produced or not.It
is up to him what he does with it or not. Not everything it
for public comsumption this is part of being a person first
and an artist second.

i'm very impressed with the amount of details.

oh, and the piano in xmd5a is the most beautiful thing i
have ever heard in my life, into the synths in 5:40ish... oh
my gosh.

where the fuck did he come up with this....

can't wait for my vinyl to get here next week.

i am happy with these 2 tracks, i don't care about any more
analord right now, im still gonna be disecting these tracks
for the next 2 weeks.

i do like the long tracks tho vs the short ones from AB
days.

2 longtracks > 5 short tracks, etc.

XMD5a evolves so beautifully, and that PIANO NEEDS ANOTHER
MENTION!!!!!!!!!

I love it 'coz of "post-drukqs" feeling with some very nice,
warm, but melancholic in the same time, atmosphere and kinda
electroclash sparkles in both tracks. This is some very
good, cinematic stuff :)

oh, and the best thing about analor,d well, i hsould say the
best thing ricahrd is best at doing, yes, the best.

is the layers.

most multi layered elec. has some ufkin layer that is just,
i dunno, on top. no matter how much i listen to a layer
underneath it, there is always one that is on top, louder,
catches the ear easier, etc.

with analord, especially on xmd5a, there will be 3 layers
goingon and 4 at one part, and they go so well together.

and the best part is you can concentrate on any layer of the
whole. there is no one layer screaming "omg listen to me
listen to me" it's so easy to concentrate on a single layer
of that track without it taking over.
right at 5minutes on xmd5a iswhat im talking about. the
beat comes in so subtly that yuo don't even know it.

most of the time there is this hard break and you know when
the beat is gonna come back in and it does hard, here it
comes in so damn subtle that i didnt even remember the point
where it came in and had to rewind it a couple times, -_-

I agree with most of what's been said here. It exceded my
expectations, it's finely crafted, the presentation is
unique and interesting, and it's only a small portion of the
analord series.

woot. Exciting times indeed.

I knew it, I knew it, this is the Electronic Music Cultural
Revolution YEAR ZERO, Dickie has leapt forward by
going back to where he already was, IN THE FUTURE. This has
all the classic elements that made him the legend in the
begining, coupled with the technical virtuosity he's
developed more recently, and he has whipped up something
that evokes 10 years ago and 10 years in the future. After
the false starts, the bloated Drukqs, Smojphace, the tired
gabba live sets, this is the music we knew he could make and
hoped one day he'd even release. This is what fresh RDJ
sounded like when he first appeared, this is like listening
to SAW 85-92, in 1992, for the first time and thinking
"...fuck".... and it represents, just for me maybe, an
almighty fuck you to all the lazy genre whores who attempted
to bore to death electronic music over the last few years.
Please put down your laptops and do yourselves in, you
cannot compete with the LORD, and nor indeed should you try.
I'm weeping manly tears and facing a brighter future, there
is hope for music once more, this is a new dawn, an Anadawn,
....Analord.
