If you have PhotoShop 5.5 or higher, it comes with ImageReady, which allows you to make animated GIF files. Pretty easy too, just make each layer a frame of animation and choose "make frames from layers". |

what program do you use for it? Maybe it helps to save in GIF format, not jpeg. you can't make animated jpegs as far as i know... Try downloading animation shop! |

The animated gif stores other information about frame times and such "on top" of the information that describes the actual frames. The program you use for making animations might also have set the colour depth too high, meaning that your avatar is set to display e.g. 16,7 million colours (24-bit) while the separate frames were originally only able to display 256 or 65536 colours. This is my version of the explanation, it's a bit technical but I hope you understand :) |
