think about this long and carefully before you answer. How do you react when confronted or amongst people of a different race? Do you act differently or think differently, more self-consciously? Don't be ashamed or embarassed to be completely frank - no-one here will judge you, because everyone here is very open-minded.

I can honestly say no. I've had a lot of exposure to people of different races and lived in "mixed race" houses/flats so it's not a big deal to me.
Sometimes there are cultural difference swhere you inadvertantly offend someone or vice versa, but provided the other party is pretty cool about it it's never a problem. I'd say it's more a cultural thing than a tone of skin one- I find it easier to get on with my westernised chinese mates than a lot of white south africans for example.
I suppose I'm asking, do you mean race as in people's genetic makeup or race as in which country someone is from/their culture? It's a distinction that isn't often made, but which I think is incredibly important.

i admit having stereotypes on some people, but it never has to do with race. it's more to do with the way people dress. i try to get rid of them, but when i see abercrombie and fitch shirts i just get disguisted.

Nope, I don't act differently.
I have loads of friends from different origin, race or whatever, and I do not act different.
In the town where I grew up, there's a big variety of cultures which might have helped me to not think of others as different because of their color/origin. I look at everyone as a human, just like I consider myself to be one.

Take a pinch of white man Wrap him up in black skin Add a touch of blue blood And a little bitty bit of red Indian boy Oh like a Curly Latin kinkies Oh Lordy, Lordy, mixed with yellow Chinkees, yeah You know you lump it all together And you got a recipe for a get along scene Oh what a beautiful dream If it could only come true, you know, you know
What we need is a great big melting pot Big enough enough enough to take The world and all its got And keep it stirring for a hundred years or more
And turn out coffee coloured people by the score
Rabbis and the friars Vishnus and the gurus We got the Beatles or the Sun God Well it really doesn't matter what religion you choose And be thankful little Mrs. Graceful You know that livin' could be tasteful We should all get together in a lovin machine I think I'll call up the queen It' s only fair that she knows, you know, you know

i'm no racist, i'm sure i sometimes do make jokes about people from other races though (very rarely now that i think of it, those jokes are often quite lame and not funny most of the time) and to me it's the same as making jokes about other gender or belgians or americans or something :D
anyway, i'm no racist, in fact i hate'em, i think they're simple-minded

In that case no, like I said, its more cultural things than appearences. I remember a good point an English journalist (forget who), of Indian descent made. He said, he had read most literary works in the English canon, was familair with English folk music, wrote in English as a job and dressed in a suit and tie. His neighbour was a cultureless slob who thought he was "more British" on the grounds that eh was white.

I often find racist jokes funny, in that they are often laughing at the stereotype rather than an individual. I find jokes at the welsh's expense very funny because I'm nothing like your stereotypical Welsh man.
For example polish/irish jokes crack me up because the only irish and polish people I know are actually really bright.

some people say we're all a bit racist but that we have to fight it...
i don't know if it's considered as racism but it's kind of discriminatory anyway, i don't like the style some people give to themselves, the stereotypal people living in gangs listening to rap wearing sport clothes all the time and talking in their own slang etc... maybe it has more to do with personal taste, i don't know. but i really dislike the people with this style.

anglo-saxons have a lot to answer for.
I tend to dislocate myself from proud americans and fastidious germans at the merest sound of their voices. and i bear the english merely because i'm surrounded by them and people don't understand racists who hate the race they are included as a member of....; in fact its a good way to get sectioned if you start violently racially abusing the english , whilst being one yourself.

I'm not a racist. Racism doesn't work, since you do not yourself choose which race to be born into, it has nothing to do with who you are.
Appearance and reality. I don't like superficial people.
The cultural part. I have some issues against some cultures, even against my own, but it has nothing to do with race.
1st Point: Racism don't work. I am not a racist. 2nd Point: I have issues with most cultures. The cultures I like the most are the really peaceful ones...
