so now that its out, and the artists were supposed to be a
surprise (which i'd figure means we'd find out when we got
it), does anyone know who they are? Drexciya, BoC, Carl
Craig, RDJ, anyone?

Do you reckon you could make a profit on this? Not even play
it, just keep it in the plastic and flog it six months down
the line.

I'm always a sucker for these kind of limited vinyl
releases, but without any information whatsoever, it is a
risky purchase (not to mention an expensive one).

I hope some MP3's are released for this first record. If the
tracks are good enough, i'll buy future installments.

I figure that even if the music is shit, you can still make
your money back (and potentially much more) by selling it
later.

Wait a second, someone is selling a record saying it's got
secret artists on it? So it literally could be anybody? I
mean Justin Timberlake could be behind this.

Pretty much, yeah.

It is by one of the guys who runs AI Records I believe. The
only info we have about the first record is that a lot of
people like it on discogs (lots of 5/5 ratings) and some guy
on the RUR myspace page who left a comment saying it was
excellent.

I must say, I love the sleeve artwork too.

Look at it this way: everyone thought analord 10 was a
ripoff at £40, but you didn't hear any complaints when the
market value suddenly increased 5 fold for that particular
record :)

Still... 30 second samples would be nice.

hiya.

just a quickie form aiHQ.
i hope u all realise this is not a scam, or an exercise in:

"spacializating in collector items to survive... im not
purchasing it, but id guess theres just Ai classic artist in

those vinils... like yellotone or yunx or whatever... too
expensive imo... "

it is a special project to introduce something alittle
special in todays music world. to create a product that is
exciting and special.

the artists on this project are not going to be the usual Ai
roster.
they are special guests that have influenced me musically
and inspired me.

most of the artists onboard are only letting me put this
record out if the qnty is 100 this is another reason why its
so LTD.

its not a crazy way of makeing money, its a good project
that will be worth while for a label and as a collector. I
HOPE>

because it's so mysterious. Just a little overpriced though
imo, cause it might aswell be really shit music to your own

not really over priced seeing that there is only 100 made.
its not a massive profit makeing exercise.

if the music was shit then people would stop buying the
series.
and it would not work.

so far the comments ive had are all good.
and it was difficult to follow up the first one as it was so
well recieved.

BUT trust me the next one is one BAD MUTHA record.

the key to RUR is something old, something borrowed,
something new.
all quality music in my opinion. just hope everyone
continues to agree.

/ Ai.

And there in lies just one the bumaching dichotomies of
Ziltytronic.

There should just be talk about music...
But don't criticise or have an opinion on it.

All creative endeavours are worthwhile and above reproach..
Despite the "spam" and majority of actual releases
disproving this theory time and time again.

I'd like comments on my new music....
But I'll only respond to the negative comments, claiming
they're unfounded.

It's ok for a label to hawk their 20 or even 40 quid two
track 12" via this board...
As long as I can download it for free.

i think just some of the xlt-ers bought one of the records
for the first time, and are praying to God that it isn't
shit and worth that much money, so the smallest little
negative comment from someone else feels like there's shit
flung into their face.

It's not that i'm against RUR, i'm just a curious horrible
cunt.

The problem is, people are criticising the release without
even listening to it first. People were exactly the same
when Analord 10 was announced and despite the moaning
regarding the price tag, a lot of them kicked themselves
when they realised the music was actually decent and the
market value of the record rose massively. Still, I suppose
it is human nature to be cautious of expensive releases if
they don't have any real information about what they're
buying.

If the record turns out to be decent (which i'm sure it
will), then I will let everyone know about it. If the record
is shit, I will do exactly the same thing. I'm not going to
claim it to be the best thing ever if it most certainly
isn't.

Only time will tell I suppose.

OK. I am sorry to try to be an adult here, but here is what
I see. Two or three people decide its ok to be cunts to
everybody. Not really much different from any other site on
the internet. Problem being is for some reason people in the
industry that cater towards the kind of music this
messageboard is set up for seem to think that there are
people here who care about music so they take an interest.
They show up a few times and get pissed off by people who
would rather have an opinion and be cunts than actually talk
about music. This website looses support from the label
owners and artists.

Correct me if I missed anything.

so, we're not allowed to critisize people in terms of music
related stuff, because that'll scare Rich and Tom off this
board? If there's music to discuss on this board, then there
should be oppinions. Discussing is sharing eachother's
oppinions. Negative reactions on discussions in music are,
believe it or not, oppinions (i admit sometimes, people here
just really feel good about themselves when they act like
cunts). I think you're taking the cunty personality's of
some of the people on this board a little bit too serious,
and you should, just like those label guys who sign up here
to promote their stuff, pay alittle less attention to them.

i hope i don't belong to the cunty category though :(

Fuck. I am just saying don't be a cunt for the sake of being
a cunt. I didn't say anything about not expressing an
opinion. People should always feel its within their right to
express their opinion. I was just expressing mine, which is
"don't be a cunt".

You weren't being a cunt I don't think, so my comment wasn't
directed to you.

That said, I think its sad that every time someone tries to
mention that people should try to show eachother a little
bit more repsect it gets turned into a free speach thing.

So these people "in the industry", these hardboiled business
men (releasing an expensive, limited run silver 12" by god
knows who on an unknown label is a straight-up marketing
ploy to hook in fan boys, completists and collector scum,
and not something done "for the love of music"), these
people that want your money, ... they're frightened off away
from this potential GOLDMINE because two or three people
"are cunts".

I looked through this thread, and apart from a few skeptical
jibes, no one's "a cunt", a cunt would say "Stick your
fucking overpriced shit up your arse, if you want to make
money, pretend they're sold out and bung them on eBay
yourself. Why don't you tell us who the artists are? Because
when Circuitz Grong and Tapr Ravers release under their
usual aliases, no one gives a fuck... oh could be Carl
Craig.. could be Aphex.. could be me if you're very
unlucky." but no one has, has they?

What would Record Industry types do here if it wasn't "full
of cunts" what if it was placid, oasis of uncritcial
consumerism? What would these execs and artists do here
given free reign? Give away free stuff? Talk to you about
their influences? Give Cygnus tips on how to make his beats
more rhythmic? Post "lol" a lot? Sign you to their fucking
label?

"Correct me if I missed anything." You missed the
fucking boat mate, is what.

There's no music to fucking talk about in this case unless
you're willing to stump up £20 upfront on good faith. What
fucking music? Where is the music to discuss? Why aren't the
people who bought this falling over themselves to say how
great it is, to quash the naysayers, how many of the people
that bought it actually dared play it in case it reduced its
value? This isn't about music, therefore there's not much
talk about "the music", there is no fucking music, just
bedroom boy doing his mates a few favours and Quinoline
Yellow handing over a tape he found stuck to a condom under
his bed.

A few "reviews" of the first record are here. I
spoke to that Jason guy (not the label owner) and he said "
it's awesome! the b-side being a really slick, clean,
electro killer. similar in vein to claro intelecto". Of
course, he did just spend a lot of money on the record so
maybe that influenced his opinion somewhat, but the
favourable reviews I have read make me at least want to give
it a chance.

*Sigh* I like the yellow text on a yellow background, that's
progressive. I'd be all excited because "B12 Records" are in
his friends group but seeing as that account is run by Josh
of "Seed Records" I'd lay money down that these mystery
artists really are mystery artists in the sense that they
couldn't get arrested on account of no one knowing who they
were anyway. Could be Claro Intellecto.. I even like Claro
Intellecto, but I'd rather spend the money on one of his
albums and know what I was getting.
