I've thought about it. This thread would have been fine if it wasnt newbies expoliting our community for a free grab at the oink sack. Its just something i really dont like which is why i am virtually the only one who enforces the antispam crap from the newbies. This is no different. I am undecided to close it because that would affect our longterm members that might want to benefit from the friendly invite system that we had already established. I am ready to hear other peoples thoughts on this. I mean after all it is you that are handing out your invites and not me. I just cringe at people signing up just to get a free invite. I couldnt imagine giving free pot to some random guy that wanted a bowl. Or Beer to someone that i have never spoken to. |

the only problem i see is that not used accounts are being created which makes the site stats a bit lame. really they should be deleted after some time when it's clear they were only created for oink invites i have no problem with one spam thread in which i can altruistic and others like me with me. these people have been looking for invites for a long time, the only thing they did wrong is not know 'cool' internet people like us, imo that's not fair and im happy to do something about that. also i think some of these people will keep hanging out here, especially when they've seen what a lame community oink is (the forum and administration there, not the uploads). also redrum jumped to the gun a few times: a few of the few posts-invite-beggers were actually lurkers here: the community here also consists of those |

ive actualy been at this place since early aphextwin.nu, but never contributed much with posting, so maybe i dont deserve one. i was just gonna check to see if they offered anything different to the other torrent sites im on. oh yea sorry if u didnt like my other zilty post, i would say i download more than i upload but not by a big margin, anyway the others love it cos they get a good ratio, and i always seed loads to keep my ratio good. I probly wouldnt go down to well at oink so fuck ur invite, aint really bothered. as for people joining to get invites, i agree with u. |

I will address those paragraphs as 1,2, and 3. 1. 2. Its an interesting point. Alot of sites are hard to get into because of their stuckup elitest BS. I agree with that its not fair. I am all for the free exchange of music, media and ideas. But thats me and i should probably state that i only speak for myself and not XLT. 3a. The oink community is the absolute worst. 3b. There were only a small number that were real lurkers. Usually i will see new registered users and this very thread bumped to the top of the page of those users with their mouths open and there hands out ready to suck someone off for an invite. |

i think it's fair to take my stance, instead of trusting the "one or two [nice ones]" to stay as part of the community. in any event, i think people, if they're referred to this site, should do the honourable thing and post here for a few weeks before asking for an invite. I'd gladly give an invite to such a person. And as for me being rude to lurkers who were rude, I'm not, as far as i know. in my first posts telling people to fuck off i even included information from their profiles as to their xlt sign-up date and their number of posts, and with the last guy he'd just then signed up to ask for an oink invite. |

i'm not a cynic, i'm a realist. xltronic will become notorious on music forums on the net as somewhere you can get oink invites easily (as it already seems to have) - this problem will only get worse, and people, like the two of us, who've given invites out in this thread, would most certainly have their oink memberships taken away from them. |
