I wont donate till the place is finished and we can use it I have donated in the past, a couple of times, but my actual premiership is due to a nice meber that donated for me... it was a nice gesture, but I think nobody should donate its been 3 years since this place was announced... time enough has past for the place to be up with most of its contents... but instead we only get promises... for three years now the same goes for watmm, I will enjoy the forums, but wont donate until I see the places up, and in both places I was one of the first ones to donate, but I am already begining to think we are being cheated in my case I have only donated a couple of times, but I see people donating a lot.... good for you if you feel that helps, but I think it is not really helping... if people got serious about this maybe the admins would have to really finish it. in the last year I ve seen more new forms of getting money than actual improvements to he site |

and I will post here as long as it is a free site... and its is said to be a free site donations are volunteer, and I freely donated (very little, thats true) in the past, and I freely decide not to donate anymore now... till I see some promises come true after 3 years. |

I didnt share this opinions 1,2 or 3 years ago... but now thats how I feel, yes. if this place didnt exist we would go other place, but thats not the case I believed in donations, as a free decision for people who wanted to collaborate... now it has turned out to be that without donations, this wouldnt exist... it seems like soon this place wont be free anymore..., and one thing I am sure... I am not gonna pay for an internet resource, when there are plenty of free ones |

a lot of the people who have donated to the site really don't care that much about all the supposedly upcoming extra content. sure, it'll be nice when it's there, but it's not the main reason for coming here. they donate because they enjoy visiting this messageboard, to talk to the people here. they also understand that a site like this will cost money to keep up and running. you are free to donate or not, it's your choice - but it does seem kind of mean-spirited to ask other people not to donate. |

I meant it in another sense though (I didnt actually ask people not to donate, but expressed my thoughts that if people didnt donate maybe the admins would go faster with the site), but I clearly made a mistake as its true that many people that donate dont do it for the future outcome of the site, but for the pleasure of being here, which is great again sorry for that part |

Thats why it is called donating. If they asked for regular fees that we are expected to pay related to the use of this site, then it takes on more of a business/client relationship, and then the consumers have a right to hold the supplier accountable for what they see to be a shortcomming. But they aren't expecting people to pay fees. They ask people to donate. People don't donate, there will be no place to talk to the people that make this place worth returning to. |
