it is handy to make some kind of distinction in the titles,
though - like add a "- 1" and "- 2" or something.

the hoax-section was originally meant to cover those "known"
aphex twin hoaxes out there.... i agree on the hassle of
updating *all* hoaxes out there, so perhaps it'll die with
time.....

ok i'm not the smartest "idm" guy but um i just heard
richard h kirk for the first time and thought it sounded
familiar. i remembered seeing his name on the list of
artists under the discog search so i checked it out and i
noticed the reason why his music sounded familiar to me is
because he is also in sweet exorcist.

the reason i'm mentioning all this is because i think you
are missing one of sweet exorcists releases. i have one
that is not on there. spirit guide to low tech. touch
t33.13. 1994. warp music. 11 tracks.

The discography has been ehanced/simplified a bit re:
URLs..... Also changed the browse mode a bit....

offline ymenard on 2005-09-17 20:16 [#01726435]
Points: 1001 Status: Regular

That browse mode = brillant. I hated having to scroll
through this little tiny box that took SO much time to get
pass beyond the first alphabet letters :)

offline Phobiazero from the next Xltronic (Sweden) on 2005-09-18 05:08 [#01726539]
Points: 10507 Status: Webmaster | Show recordbag

we'll have like 10 different interfaces/ways of accessing
the discography in xltronic v2. the current browse-mode is
more like a "show-off" thingy to show what's possible to do,
and it's built up like: artist -> aliases -> releases

... but we could also have: label -> aliases -> releases
etc etc etc.... the featured artists pages will have their
part of the discography accessable on the same page.

the advanced mode will have even more filterings options -
and you will also be able to toggle thumbnails on/off,
ability to search the discography database for releases,
tracks, lyrics etc......

the discography will contain more than 10,000 pages of
detailed info. we have already registered around 1500
releases, 2900 tracks, 224 artists and 333 aliases. we still
need to add alot of tracks to "empty" releases, so the
number of tracks will prolly increase to 5 x 1500 releases =
7500 additional tracks..... plus all remixes, liveshows,
compilations and label information. and it will grow, grow
and grow..... but our main priority is quality ahead of
quantity.... and our niche is electronic music. but we like
details...... that's why we have like every single release
of an specific album, like US-version, UK-version,
Japan-version.... etc..... that could infact be confusing
for newcomers, - why are there like 10 different "surfing on
sine waves"-entries in the discography? -why? well, because
there exists THAT MANY! and xltronic discography is the
ultimate resource to excellent electronic music....a heaven
for collectors....and a paradise for music lovers.... we
even register the same track several times if there are
"differences" in track-lengths, samples etc..... so if we
find out there is a shorter version of "cost ii" by black
dog on the US-release for example, we'll let you know... cos
there has to be a reason.

another sweet thing re: the discography and it's entries is
that you can interact with all the objects, rate them, add
to recordbag, listen to samples etc....

ok, i'm done now.
