I find it hard to believe that you didn't notice hair metal,
disco, and cool jazz go in and out of fashion.

I wouldn't call any of those bands tolstoyed mentioned to be
groundbreaking and I'm pretty sure they aren't the next big
thing, whatever that means. Electronic music has a future,
Warp aren't that important, just let it slide.

bad examples, i was born after they all went out of fashion.
:)

i seem what you meant though, and i was just speaking
personally (though working on the assumption that i am not
alone in my opinion and those that i share it with may be at
least a part of warps audience), i listen to music long
after making that genre of music has stopped being popular.

i may be ignorant, but sometimes i make comments so other
people can correct me and/or expand on what i said, so i can
learn more...

tolstoyed is a genius; black dice , lightning bolt and the
general ATP krew are great bands. erase errata were very
good too , espec live.....tortoise etc boredoms! i once saw
the boredoms , lightnin bolt and black dice in one night for
10£ ! amazizzing tehg auze.

i think the funk will save electronica , people like lidell
and mr vibe-o - it needs more mass appeal - it's just way
too specialist , i mean i went to see fucking ellenallien ,
ceephax , chris clark , dmx krew etc and there were about 40
people there. . just shows really no one gives a toss about
it as it is. maybe in ten years.

, i think glitch programming has gone as far as it can and
only people like squarepusher and AE actually use it to the
benefit of the song. i hate the buffer override VST.

i do wonder what people like pusher will make of being label
mates with an indie band/// has said he quite dislikes the
genre........ i think they are alright myself but if you
don't like that style its a moot point if you say they are
shite. maybe it will bring some more ppl over to
electronics. .

never heard of erase errata, will check them out though!

lidell is awesome..he puts on an awesom live show so no
wonder it's always packed..the last album has very little to
do with electronica though, i love it non the less tho!
great stuff.
as i said, my hopes are all on aphex..i hope he puts out a
new album in next two years. so far every new proper album
that he put out sounded like something totally new and
different (except for rdj and icbyd album because they were
released very close together). the other three guys im
hoping to hear some advanced music from are philip jeck,
masami akita and jeff mills.

and Konono Nr. 1 on the 24th and it's going to be ace. Thank
you for reading this post.

hey, Lightning Bolt are great of course, but don't you think
you're way overrating Tolstoyed calling him a genius? :D
after all, he wasn't the first one to mention this band here
on the board, was he?

I have Lightening Bolt and Erase Errata sessions at Maida
Vale recorded off the radio. Never really given them much of
a listen. Perhaps I should dig em out.
