hmm

no. i think it's already enough work to keep a discography
of "official" artists...

...but the idea of keeping a discography of all releases by
xltronic members is good! if anyone's up for it...

Doing the discog is a huge amount of work... we can't keep
the "real" one up to date as it is. The matter of user's
songs will be addressed to some degree when the artist
service for premium members is implemented.

I sign.

ceri: let some of the users do it (they don't need mod-staus
for that, do they? phob can pick someone he trusts of the
persons in this thread)

This was already discussed in this thread LAZY_TITLE .
we already decided never to to this because of all the hard
work it would be screening all that bad music.

Yes x

But in a seperate discog maintained by the artists
themselves. I.e each artist had access to their own discog
and can update/maintain it whenever is needed.

I wouldn't mind doing some of it but surely there is a way
for the artists to update their own 'area'?

offline deepspace9mm from filth on 2004-04-24 12:46 [#01159110]
Points: 6846 Status: Addict

Yeah, but artist-maintained and separate from the "official"
xlt discog. It'd be a nice feature with all links n shit,
maybe save having to trawl through a million old threads.

why don't you lot do one yourself on some other site? then
you could link that site from here. then we could cut down
on the spam.

i though up the idea that we should make a wire.fm site (or
wherever with unlimited uploading) with all of our best
tracks (1 per member) so people can always go and hear
what's made here without searching for it
im pretty certain this has been thought up before though.
but: everyone having a song there should be available per
mail to give out the password for other members to b able to
upload
i dont care if you have more than one track either: people
will start at the bottom i guess.
i dont know wether wire.fm will aprove though
anyhoo: how 'bout that idea? ??
