Honkytonk is a good piece of music that needs only a few minor adjustments.
I'd use some sort of different sound (more 8-bit?) for the melody that kicks in at 00:49 and put some delay on it, have some sort of harmonies and maybe a wee lil counter-melody but that's about it. I love the clipped retro beats at the start and your bass sounds are really good.
I like it enough to put snippets in my next mix, put it that way. Don't give up if you love something oscillik.

Now I really really like gotham. Excellent mood and atmosphere...the drums suit the track perfectly. The name fits just right too...could quite easily be a sinister edition to a Batman soundtrack (If Aronofsky, however you spell it, ever got to do his version).
Excellent stuff.
