what do you expect when you post something like that

stop overdramatising, you'll only end up being the victim of
riddicule

if you haven't noticed we're already being ridiculed in this
thread and possibly in other ones, so just stop
overdramatising will you?

sorry mate, but there's not gonna be any new stuff

i'm giving it up

honestly though, that yojimbo was the bomb...wish i could do
drum programming like that

offline DiaZoHeXagoN from The city of angels (United States) on 2004-02-17 12:05 [#01076916]
Points: 2659 Status: Lurker

thats just ridiculous giving it up...why did you start
making music in the first place?

offline DiaZoHeXagoN from The city of angels (United States) on 2004-02-17 12:07 [#01076920]
Points: 2659 Status: Lurker

well thinking with that logic i better give up everything
because someone will always be better

you know come to think of it I cant cycle breathe so maybe I
should just stop breathing in general

because i love music

but i wanna be able to show it to people and for them to
like my stuff. if i'm no good at this, then people aren't
going to like my stuff

i don't wanna go commercial with it, because i hate
commerciality and stuff like that.

i just wanna be recognised as an artist thats all.
but i'm a bad artist, so what's the point in carrying on
when i've been trying to be good for 5 years.

like i said in a previous post, i would expect Aphex or
Reznor to bow out when they've reached their creative peak,
and i'm doing the same (except you couldn't really call mine
a peak. lol)

offline DiaZoHeXagoN from The city of angels (United States) on 2004-02-17 12:14 [#01076940]
Points: 2659 Status: Lurker

well if you love doing it then dont stop, if it makes you
happy then that is all that matters

Points: 24805 Status: Lurker | Followup to oscillik: #01076925 | Show recordbag

you took your track down after two or three responses
though...it is perfectly possible that there would have been
other people who loved your work had you have given them the
chance to listen. I have actually listened to the track
since and maybe I was a little harsh on the first listen,
which is normally comments on techniques rather than the
track in general.

offline DiaZoHeXagoN from The city of angels (United States) on 2004-02-17 12:17 [#01076948]
Points: 2659 Status: Lurker

If you want people to like it then let that be what
motivates you to work harder at it....

offline oscillik from the fires of orc on 2004-02-17 12:18 [#01076949]
Points: 7746 Status: Regular | Followup to ecnadniarb: #01076941

yeah but, my reasoning for taking them down was because i
remember getting not too great responses to my other tracks,
and when 3 out of 3 tracks get bad responses, i thought that
was a cue to get rid of them.

please don't say that - i don't think anyone else on here
can say that you were too harsh in you observation on
it....everyone else who heard it was pretty much agreeing
with you

it's fine man :)

Bloody hell, this guy is insane. He spends 5 years doing
music then quits it all after a bit of negative feedback. He
took it so badly. You will always enjoy your own tracks, and
getting negative feedback can be profoundly offensive. But
you have to realise that not everyone will be able to
associate with your music in the way that you do , so they
could very easily think it is shit. Once you realise this
you start to imagine how you can make music that other
people will enjoy as well as yourself. That is the first
hurdle, and it is a hard one. You really over-reacted to
this. Now put your songs back up and let us all hear them!
The more feedback you get the more chance you have of
someone liking them!

Yeah man, and even if no one likes them, why does it matter?
You are making music for yourself. Don't worry about what
other people think more than what you think yourself.

I'm not judging. Just stating an opinion.

The track however:

Good beats. I really like them,. And the Bass at about 1:00
is really good. This is fucking cool. Some of the sounds
don't really work for me like that the one doing the main
rhythm arounf the 1:30 mark.

All in all though it's a good track and fun to listen to :D

oh and there's a part in there that reminds me of some tune
from years ago. It has the words:

"Sometimes I feel like throwing my hands up in the air.
I know I can count on you
" I'm too lazy to go and check
what it is though :P

my critique...I think the beats are really well done the
melody is a bit weak but mostly because you have no
supporting or counter melody i will give you the same advice
oddioblender gave me...just add to the track dont take away

but honestly the drum sounds themselves are not really my
thing, the actual beats are really good...better then what i
can do thats for sure
