i doubt there are songs composed entirely on the sk1, probably used for some sounds or something. It's just a crappy sampler right? I imagine it'd be hard to pinpoint a track and be like "ah, that's an sk1 track"
dunno though

crappy? lol no.. its the only harware machine i got, i owned it when i was a kid.. used to play loops, change their speed, record my voice and play it on thre keyboard with different octaves.. etc lots of fun, i can actually hear reference in aphex muisc, rhythms and sounds that reminds me of the SK1 ones,
the internet page says that is used, i mean there are lots of people into autechre in here nobody knows what i am talking about?

by crappy I mean old, has a low sample rate. Not necessarily a bad thing :) I'm sure it's a ton of fun
"Michael Andrews featured a circuit bent SK-1 heavily in the Me and You and Everyone We Know musical score" - ooh, that's a good soundtrack

alright alright here is my slightly sizable pile of daily SK-1 jams. quick sketches in which i worked through the built-in samples and tested out mods i'd just done and then came back the next day and tried to move it from 1 to 1.1.
i wanted to set up a shoutcast stream but that notion died a slow death in config file editing. now that is another task for... whenever

casio sk1 only active sound source, but i'm using inbeard fx. reverb and delay and whatever. no MIDI or anything like that; just fussing about live. somewhere along the line i got all four voices + the drumz going to individual line outs; the inbeard fx grew ever hairier. i got gate sync working; mpc1000 going through my paia fatman's midi2vgrate as a clock source. i finished wiring up a DB25 connector that busted the SK-1's skull out into a busybox -- pots and switches and buttons i could easily rewire depending on my mood, then close behind a wooden door and forget about as i recorded. i recorded 'em on an rme fireface 800, into cubase. editing wasb verboten, except to clip out the dead air bookends or whatever. after that i probably ran it through one of my usual compressor presets. all the mods settled in and i'd done twenty or thirty of 'em; it began to get a little more challenging to do something i hadn't done yesterday. often the day's incremental improvement was more or less being able to work those fucking tiny little keys better. or picking a cool/amusing sample. if i'd kept going i probably would have started feeding bits of it into my modular; filter it in sync with the clock or whatever. maybe i even did that before i had to sell off the fireface and most of the fx; i don't remember
