Who wants to live in this skrillex/mainstream aphex post dub

Seems like he was a good guy. Didn't interact with him much
here. I certainly appreciated his albums though, as did many
others here no doubt, he will live on through those!

if he really turns out to be jivverdick, I'm sorry to say,
but than Mark Bell was a real fucking ass hole who made
excellent electronic music.

because any idiot would see it was chachmaster (your other
sad loser account) who was starting shit, and I feel dirty
just responding to your tiny brain

No, Mark Bell was a kind, good humoured and generous person.
A son, husband and father who leaves behind a young family.
You should be ashamed of yourself and the only thing that
your post adds to this topic is that it shows he was also a
good judge of character.

I don't think people who didn't know him outside of XLT have
much reason to think of him as anything other than a caustic
smartarse. Some like him for that, some don't. I didn't know
him personally but loved his posts on here for that reason.
Don't get upset by it, somehow I doubt he would be

I googled some old threads of jivverdicker. It seems like,
crazone and jivver never got along well. But this no excuse
to insult the man now.

"if he really turns out.."

That's just the beginning of your wonderfully respectful
post and already it says tons about you.

I'm not here defending Jivvers. He doesn't need it and never
needed it.

This thread seems to be more about the passing of
Jivverdicker rather than just fans morning a legend. that's
amazing.

thing is, i didn't know him outside of XLT, and i cried too
when i heard the news. i don't know his music (yet) either.
so why did it bother me so much? i've been stewing on it,
because i wouldn't for most people here.

most people consider writing to be a functional thing, but
once you get past a certain level of skill and experience
with it, writing becomes something bordering on a psychic
connection. meeting of the minds... or exposure, anyways. as
a message board addict, i've gotten pretty good at reading
people through their posts, even if they're idiots who can't
write to save their life.

jivver got my goat sometimes, but most of the time, i found
it hard not to laugh instead. he just had a way of phrasing
things: "you festering nob-end..." it was creative,
colorful, and funny in a very british way. this let me know
he wasn't too serious about it -- if he really want to cut,
he wouldn't bother to craft such beautiful insults. you he
was a very good writer, and that's the first reason i'll
miss him around here.

there were also moments where i exchanged more than a few
words with him -- not just arguetroll stuff; a bit of real,
serious conversation. it was then i began to feel that
gentle nature. i didn't know he had kids, i didn't know any
of the nice things he's done that people are speaking of
here. but i saw a bit of his soul, and i thought it was very
beautiful. that's the real reason this tears me up. it's
like seeing a puppy get run over by a bus. horrible.

these boards to see what people were saying, and... well, I
had no idea Mark Bell was JivverDicker!

I am sad that Mark Bell has passed. I listened to Homogenic
and LFO today... beautiful music. RIP.

But Jivverdicker was a piece of shit who did his best to

So fuck him, ya'll can look on with rose colored glasses,
but I'm glad there will be no more Jivver posts even if it's
already too late for this place.

xD

Anyway: LAZY_50_ALBUMS_THAT_CHANGED_MUSIC

50 LFO
Frequencies (1991)

Acid house was sniffed at as a fad until it started
producing 'proper' albums. Frequencies was its first
masterpiece. Updating the pristine blueprint of Kraftwerk
with house, acid, ambient and hip hop, it made dance music
legitimate to album-buyers.

Without this ... no success for Orbital, Underworld,
Leftfield, Chemical Brothers or Aphex Twin.

I was barely aware of his work outside of LFO until now, but
now I look it up it's just as incredible. Shame this is the
way I found out about it. I might be snapping some up off
ebay, I guess that's in his memory in a way

and keep it tactful... there was much more to him than his
internet antics (and those seemed to be mainly in jest
anyway). And there are a lot of people here who seemed to
have known him not as a cocky centimetre-scale dog in a
sweater, but as a real fella
