R.I.P. for the great musician who made the top tune called
"Freak".
Thoughts to his family.

woah, i actually learned like 5 minutes ago that he was
jivverdicker.

a bit sad that he was a total cunt as his internet-persona,
because he looked like a nice bloke in kraków.

cool that i had an opportunity to see him live.

I'm stunned. I met Mark when he toured Australia with Bjork.
I had helped him out with some very minor advice online, and
he welcomed my wife and I and our friend back stage. So
gentle, so human.

He loved his family, his children. This is terrible.

Rest In Peace.

This guy was a beast and the spirit that lives on STILL GOES
HARD! I've had a lump in my throat and wet eyes for a little
bit now, bummed since I found out this morning. I will miss
all your tart remarks and wonderful presences on the board,
Mark! We are all living it up big for you down here today,
mate!

I like to think that if jivver were here today he'd be
relentlessly taking the stick to each and every one of you
moping dewy eyed spastics.

In real life he was a gentlemen who'd give you the shirt off
his back, but on xltronic he'd set your shirt on fire and
laugh as you yelped. He was the soul and spirit of zilty,
hard and mean like the laughter of the gods. We'll miss you
Mark, you utterly depraved and delightful old cunt.

About 5 years ago he gave me feedback and advice on my two
university dissertations which not only got me in to
postgraduate study but also in to a job I love. All I did
for him was help him set up an Amiga emulator. I'll be
forever in the his debt, he was the best kind of wanker.

Genuine salt of the earth guy. Absolute opposite of his
internet persona here in real life. He'd do anything for
you. Proper generous, deeply knowledgeable guy, obviously
had a lot of love for his friends/family. It's hard thinking
about him cos he was such a charismatic guy and it's a
massive void he left, but at the heart of it all, he left a
lasting legacy in electronic music. A gift for us all.

RIP Belly, you'll be missed loads.

I remember when Warp first released the music video for
Freak, and I was like FUUUUUCK. The track fuckin' blew my
ballz off. And I showed the video to my friends, and they
were like FUUUUUCK. And then I watched Bjork dance all cute
to Freak, and I was like FUUUUUCK. And then I heard it on
the intro to Enter The Void, and I was like FAAAAAAAAAAAAAA~
And in between those times, that track was rockin' me hard
at random points in time.

Anytime Freak comes on in a proper context, it's always
fucking bonkers.

Aaaaanyway.....

Man.

We often miss the opportunity to thank people, because we
have some assumption that they'll always be around... This
is definitely a memento mori day for me. I gotta sort my
shit out, man...

It's very telling that he talked to so many Zilty members
outside of the board. However caustic he may have become on
the board in the past years, he was just a lovely person if
you got to know him even a little bit.

This is random, but I remember him telling me that he
sounded almost exactly like the builder in the second series
of "I'm Alan Partridge".

This is devastating. I used to chat to Mark on soulseek, and
met him backstage at a gig he added me to the guestlist to.
He was an incredibly generous and knowledgeable guy who gave
me tonnes of advice and evidently did the same for everyone
else he spoke to outside of the Jivver persona. RIP LFO.

that's hard to swallow, been listening to his music for

hoped it was an homonym but sadly it wasnt. been playing
Advance twice yesterday, LFO was fantastic. i didnt know he
was jivver on here, i regret not having the chance of being
the silly fan & telling him how much i like his tracks. my
frequencies are very low this morning.

OK, I'm pissed off. He remixed a tune of mine, I started
producing a track based on LFO samples to thank him, that
was more than 10 years ago, now I really regret I never
finished this track. Feel like I never properly thanked him
for the magic it was to hear his signature on my music. He
was the guy who made me realize electronic music could be
exciting.

I think also it was clear to those who knew him well that he
wasn't a troll. He didn't like people he thought were idiots
or bigots and sometimes it got out of hand. Other than that
he could be rude but it was always with cheekiness, not
malice. We all know what this place is like.

When some people found out who he was here and it became
public, he got a few messages I thought were quite hostile.
He thought it was fine though, because he teases people all
the time. "It's only fair".

A great man, musician and poster on XLT.

one of my funniest slsk chats. I kind of regret not starting
a chat-back later when I had a chance. sometimes you realize
things like that too late. sorry for a bit offtopic but I
guess he wouldn't mind a bit lighter note in a RIP thread.

I was lucky enough to see the lad (and meet him afterwards,
and hang out with him and the wonderful Icelandic brass
band, and get kicked in the shin by Bjork) perform with
Bjork on the Volta tour in Santiago, Chile. I had such a
laugh that night, and I am so unhappy that he's gone. We
might not chat for ages but he'd always ask about my son and
we'd talk about kids' stuff. This is a decent recording
though from Paris of the fucking arms-aloft, valedictory
sign off to that Volta show Hyperballad / Freak.
