oh, I'm not going to spoil anything, but it had me laughing
quite hard in the theatre

... yes, I actually spent money to see this, which was
probably one of the reasons why I was so hard on the movie -
the other reason being that it just didn't feel like a very
purposeful film in relation to the overall story of the
x-files saga, like you said. So no UFOs or much of anything,
really, except for some fairly interesting human drama, and
Billy Connolly as a lovable pedophile.

oh yea, one more thing, about the "stem-cells and religion
side of things" ... I thought the film took stance as both
pro-science and pro-religion in a way that is both admirable
and slightly confusing. Only in America! There's a lot there
that's just directly political, but I thought it was kinda
neat. Didn't save the film for me, though.

Agreed, somewhat conflicting views there on the
pro-science/religion! I'm such a fan that I would have paid
to see it as well, WOULD have that is... was definitely
entertaining, especially if you are a fan of the series, but
just not the direction most fans wanted the story to go.

Excellent, best Pixar film i've seen, the fatty humans

movie. Didn't really like the stiff acting but I liked the
theme.

I found the build up and the story not very engaging, the
main actress wasn't very good either but the ending saved
it, seriously amazing. The movie for me starts when they all
turn into zombies and they get closed in the penthouse, the
old lady at the beginning was also excellent, all in all it
had good moments just needed a better conduct.

Jennifer Carpenter (Dexter's sister) as the main lead
character? Doesn't look too promissing.

8/10

2) Ploshcha - 10/10

WOW. This is a very important documentary. Torrent it off
onebigtorrent.org as much as you want, there are no
copyrights to break. It is an U.G. film account of the
struggle of the brave people of Belarus against the
tyrannical regime of Lukashenko, done in a wonderfully
ironic and captivating way. Very inspirational, and very
rare. You will never hear from this documentary again.
Silence is the name of oppression.

definitely entertaining, especially to the stoner related
humor, action is a bit unreleastic an makes you go... eh?!?
but the other 3/4 of the movie is pretty funny. I recommend
smoking a spliff before hand

I'm not really feelin 'this is england'. It's bloody good
tho. I guess it just feels a bit too shane meadows or
sumting i dunno. 'Dead mans shoes' is much more my thing,
not just the story ect but it feels so real minus the
smallest of faults. Need to rewatch both.

I'm rewatching a few of my horrors recently and i really
like JU ON 2. I'd love to watch the first one next to the
second with popcorn and drugs. I was talking the other day
saying that there hasn't really been a new iconic horror
figure like freddy; one that is the quintesential embodyment
of horror and entertainment. I mean, there's been classic
horror icons scince, some that don't deserve it and others
that do. But none have done what freddy did; he was fun,
scary, could dispose of teens in all manner of ways
(especially in the wonderfull sequels), and his sillouette
or even just some black and red stripes would mean 'freddy's
back, bitch!'. Kayako has all this but mixed with a very
pure jap horror aethetic and design. She is freddy meets the
ring and it's perfect! I'm looking forward to the third
one.
Here have a clip. This is a good example of what
i'm saying.
