Well, I don't know exactly what to make of your post, but
like I said --with the exception of the one track that here
is marked as number 3 and the track 10 as previously
mentioned -- none of these tracks are the same as anything
that has previously been passed off as AFOT vol 1 or 2.

So I don't known what you mean by saying: "it sounds like
Old Tunes Volume 1,
which contains many unnamed tracks, and 3 named tracks from

OTV2 and AFOT"

mwaollalalala, drama on the net

imagine how boc would feel about this :1 (i'm sure they are
pretty sensible after all they seem to be real artists with
FEELINGS)
even mentioning the fact that they have unreleased tunes is
enough to trigger mass hysteria on forums...
it's like big popstars (beatles and co), i don't know about
you, but sometimes i wonder how they feel about hearing what
is said on them and around their works

people need to be more civilised and respecting i think...
not only they want all the released tunes for free, it's not
enough, they also need everything made by them, ever

i just find it very disturbing, people today have nearly no
patience and respect whatsoever it's like everything is owed
to them

What I am saying is these tracks are from a cassette called
Old Tunes Volume 1, and with the exception of 3 of the
tracks, all are unnamed and do not appear on A Few Old Tunes
or Old Tunes Volume 2, which are currently being circulated.
Somebody has finally given OTV1 to someone who couldn't be
trusted not to put it on the internet for all to get.

Do you realize there is now more unreleased BoC available
online than there is released BoC? Fucking shame that is...
and people wonder why they don't hear or know nothing about
the new BoC release until literally the day it comes out...

OK, I think I get it now... you're making a distinction
between OTV1 and AFOT, which I (and I think most people at
first at least) thought were the same.

BTW, which are the named tracks from this collection and
what are they called (aside from track 3, "House of
Abin'adab")?

ok, so um, vol 1 is this just leaked one, but which is which
with the others, one has 30 and the other has 33 tracks from
what i can see, so which is old tunes vol2 and which is a
few old tunes?

It's very simple. The tracks that were originally linked
(beginning with spectrum, the porn sample, etc.) are part of
"A Few Old Tunes." No volume number. Plain and simple.

A little bit later, some more tracks were leaked (beginning
with We've Started Up). These were part of "Old Tunes
Volume 2."

Now, some new tracks are being leaked. Apparently these are
from "Old Tunes Volume 1," which until now, had been never
leaked. Congratulations to you all.

The other tracks are 'she is p' and I can't recall the other
at the moment. Another track (unnamed) is The Smallest Weird
Number played backwards (forwards, as TSWN is played
backwards on Geogaddi).

OTV1 has 35 tracks total.

I don't like to think how sad it is that so much unreleased
stuff is around, and that it must be stopping new stuff
being released. I'd rather take the presence of so much
unreleased stuff floating about as an indication of how much
people like BoC and want more stuff so badly that they go
bonkers even for poor quality mp3s of it.

Feel all warm and glowy about the music, and take
encouragement from it's popularity!

/me goes back to sleep

fucking hell...?!? I've begun d/ling that 35 track set that
I saw, and it is different thus far from the earlier 13
track set. It's divvied up into 2 folders (Disc 1, 15 tracks
and Disc 2, 20 tracks). Disc 1 Track 2 is a slightly
extended version of She Is P. Disc 1 Track 3 is Finity. The
others don't sound familiar at all.

Joyrex, does this sound familiar to you?

offline Ganymede from Tlön, Uqbar, Orbis Tertius on 2004-10-06 07:16 [#01354395]

correction: actually it's Disc 1 Track 5 that's Finity.

Further inspectia shows that the "Disc 2" track times match
up with the 13 previously mentioned tracks. Files sizes
don't though, because this is a 320 kbps rip.

Two points:

1) Whoever leaked these 35 tracks, you might as well leak
the track listing. That'll help prevent rumors from being
spread, e.g., such-and-such track is track x from Closes
Vol. 2! Etc.

2) Following Joyrex:

MHTRTC, Twoism, Hi Scores, Geogaddi, Aquarius 7", Peel
Tracks, IABPOITC = about 4.3 hours of music.

AFOT, OTV1, OTV2, Boc Maxima = about 4.9 hours of music.

Total = 9.2 hours of music. Yes, a lot of that is overlap,
but that's more music than we have from:

"Good" (RS and later) Beatles = ~5.3 hours
Bjork (sans SCs or weird Jazz albums) = 4.8 hours
Prefuse 73 = 2.7 hours
Radiohead = ~6 hours
Sigur Ros = ~5 hours
Bola = ~3 hours

How much are we going to demand from BoC?

But i don't think we are really demanding anything. We are
however taking advantage of their misfortune. So it is a bit
of a lose - lose situation.

The only way that I can see this being a lose-lose situation
is if these leaks are indeed contributing to the delay in
new material being released. Otherwise I don't really see it
as a loss for the fans... call me selfish I guess.

offline deepspace9mm from filth on 2004-10-06 11:42 [#01354583]

I can't see how leakage of old stuff would contribute to a
delay in new material. Unless the situation has disheartened
the BoC fellows to such an extent that they have quit making
music altogether and decided to spend their advertising
revenue on LSD and child prostitues. Which, to be honest, is
not that likely.

To clarify (and because this fucking board doesn't have an
edit button, STILL, after 4 fucking years)

What I mean is side A has 15 tracks, side B has 20. I don't
have the liner for the cassette, so I don't know the
tracknames either.

That incidental music is really quite very awesome good. And
also, it is made by the guy who always hands the textbook

also plays that "duane" guy in spaced!

Don't knock it until you've tried it... plus you can turn

I'd rather have a feature that I can choose to use rather

And yes, XLT users do show that they think quite a bit

Oddly, or not, in an interview with the zany guys from "Look
around you" located on the Infotron 300 about here
they do say, and I quote;

"We loved the vaguely dictatorial tone of stations like
Radio Moscow, and all the music used. All very heraldic and
bombastic. That influenced us when we did the music
certainly, and we listened to lots of Boards of Canada,
Benge and Warp artists. Stuff like that.’ The strikingly
authentic music is credited to Gelg: in fact the group
comprises Popper and Serafinowicz again, who wrote and
played everything you hear."
