"A Few Old Tunes" Volume 3?

Don't know if this was discussed much when the whole AFOT
kerfuffle first started, but apparently there's a third
volume of old BoC material which is possibly now coming to
light...

See link.

I've downloaded it and can attest that it's not the same as
any other BoC apocrypha that's been floating around. Some
fairly decent tunes to be found!

What do you think?

Don't know what to make of it yet.

I only have the first track.

There are some elements which would make me think it might
be.

The second track is already familiar to me from a few old
tunes.

Yeah, the one labeled Track3 is actually the same as the
track label "House of Abin'adab" on the other collection.
There's also some samples that are very similar in track
#10. But otherwise it's new stuff...

Forgot to mention that apparently track 1 is missing from
alpinaluna's shared folder, so the second track that Skink
referenced is the one label track3.

I really like it so far.

I don't... i am using my ears. They re-use alot of samples
so you kind of judge by that really. The melodies are
usually a give away too.

NO, all the elite members of the IDM council swore a
sodomistic oath to be cryptic and gnomic about anything they
know about rare records. You can tell one of these satanic
electro buggerists by their use of phrases such as

"There are only 5 copies and noone has one"
"Some of those are fakes"
"I have the original"
"There will be a release later next year"

and then will offer no further info or evidence to back
their claim.

IDM Core Rule #15a-2.0

If more than 100 copies of an album are pressed, said album
can NEVER be Very Good.

IDM Core Rule #15a-2.0.1 - sub-section

It is IMPERATIVE that when 100 copies or less are pressed of
an album, the holders of copy or copies of said album NEVER
make any CLEAR statements about said record.

If this ever does happen, said album IMMEDIATELY decreases
in quality, to a maximum of Kind of Good, In a Historical
and Dated Way.

IDM Core Rule #4398f (revised 1995)

Never reveal what records you actually own in case someone
from a higher IDM strata points out that they've got an
original unedited / promo / extra tracks / master tape
signed by the artist / import / better quality version.

I haven't heard the tracks yet (I don't SLSK), but from the
descriptions I've read, it sounds like Old Tunes Volume 1,
which contains many unnamed tracks, and 3 named tracks from
OTV2 and AFOT.

The Smallest Weird Number from Geogaddi is indeed played
forwards on one of the tracks. Goes to show you that not all
of the tracks on Geogaddi are "new" as they seem to be...

hidden from you plebs for as long as possible, i guess it
had to leak eventually

Oh another member of the Elite IDM Privy Council, with more
guarded, hushed whispers of rare tracks hidden from the ears
of people who might damage their value by hearing them.

(while the truth is that most of those unheard tracks are
really better left unheard)

Rottenwool here has successfully maintained a number of Core
IDM regulations by

suggesting people who haven't heard the tracks are in some
way inferior.

inferred that (s)he is in possession of said tracks.

not given away any actual facts.

BRAVO!

Don't think of it that way - you have to understand that
this stuff is given in confidence, and when it becomes
public, people who do have this stuff are hesitant on
mentioning it due to possibly betraying the trust placed in
them.

It would be like you giving something personal to someone,
and then that someone going around telling everyone about it
and you feeling betrayed.

If it were up to me, I'd have all these BoC tracks on Bleep
for download, so BoC could see some profit from it and the
fans would get to hear more of their wonderful music.

Excellent, 10 points to Virginpusher then who wrote IDM
Core Rule #54.54++ (subsection a1b)
, chiefly

"Also make small vague comments to interested
users/individuals about said release and then provide no
further information. Make subtle hints that you might/could

be friends with the artist and that you "respect" their
wishes. "

Joyrex has broken the golden rules of IDM law by lending
credence to the rumour that there exists a copy of A Few
Shit Old Demos Vol III, and now must have his tongue ripped
out by Kid Spatula, in case he gives away any other arcane
secrets.
