Give us feedback on the new site

Phobiazero from Sweden on 2001-02-19 18:59 [#00000075]

Please, tell us what's bad and what's good
with the new site.

We'll try to satisfy everyone (even though it's not
possible)...

weird-tom from France on 2001-02-19 21:13 [#00000081]

Man this site is pure Art...

ded zero from kenosha wi on 2001-02-19 22:20 [#00000088]

i like the layout, very techno.

diastole from doh! on 2001-02-19 22:24 [#00000089]

hmm, thought the 'topics' would have been a little more,
well.....yeah, I dunno, what i would have put for a 'topic',
urmm, not a topic kinda person, I mean how long can a
conversation on one topic last for?

diastole from doh! on 2001-02-19 22:26 [#00000090]

...could the messages be posted from bottom to top like the
other bbs you have (oldest post at the bottom) :¬), freaks
me out a bit, but hey, if you don't wanna, depends how
everyone else feels about it. lets talk...

Phobiazero from Sweden on 2001-02-19 22:34 [#00000091]

Even better...You'll be able to make your own choice
regarding the sort order. This option will also be saved for
later usage.

Torley Wong from Vernon, BC, Canada on 2001-02-20 06:26 [#00000103]

hmmm... just wondering, how do you do the bold text and such
Phobiazero? is this like UBB code at all? smilies would be
nice too for the message board, sorry but that's a bit
extraneous huh?

good thing: easier to navigate!

i kind of miss the tricky animation on the last version you
had up, that was sort of neat. but this new v4 loads
quicker, i also like the new sort of minimalistique design.
works well with Richard's eyes peering out at you like some
hungry owl. (maybe you could have him blink, a la It? j/k)

let's all watch this grow... complimentary smiley :-)

Phobiazero from Sweden on 2001-02-20 07:30 [#00000104]

Well, the board is supporting pure html-codes - so just use
the ordinary htlm-tags.

Thanks for your feedback!

Phobiazero from Sweden on 2001-02-20 07:31 [#00000105]

Oh, and what about the smileys? Is it really necessary?

Phobiazero from Sweden on 2001-02-20 07:47 [#00000109]

Now, you should be happy Diastole... =)

Torley Wong from Vernon, BC, Canada on 2001-02-20 08:26 [#00000112]

test

Torley Wong from Vernon, BC, Canada on 2001-02-20 08:27 [#00000113]

-smileys aren't necessary, of course, but like lush beanbag
chairs and music in our lives, they are nice. maybe a
twisted looking RDJ smiley. or at least some mini-Aphex
logos. maybe some little symbols used to indicate things
like "CD for sale" and "hot hot news". *those* would be
practical.

Phobiazero, BTW, would be nice on this site if the:

"Great news! Your comment is registered! After some seconds
you will be redirected to the same topic, if not, click
here..."

didn't have to pop up every time. i can forsee this being an
inconvenience in the future for frequent posters, a bit of
an annoyance. my humble thoughts on the matter......

We are kind of working on this -- however, that page is
necessary, but I guess we can make things smoother in the
near future.

Torley Wong from Vernon, BC, Canada on 2001-02-20 08:38 [#00000116]

cool.

xstas from Ukraine on 2001-02-20 09:18 [#00000121]

it wil be great if this site containes any live aphex twin
*.ra

Phobiazero from Sweden on 2001-02-20 09:23 [#00000122]

Congratulations! The site will be featuring live audio stuff
in Real Audio format.

There will also be one minute samples from each track in the
discography-section (EXPLORE) - including
remixes/collaborations.

We are working on this and hopefully we'll add the samples
as soon as we got our permission from Warp Records.

Scary Bear on 2001-02-20 11:27 [#00000126]

Phobia: You obviously went through a bit of trouble
converting all the remixes to Real Audio format. Why did you
do it?

Phobiazero from Sweden on 2001-02-20 12:02 [#00000128]

Trouble? What do you mean?

Check out the FAQ for some answers...click here

daan_e from Utrecht on 2001-02-20 22:51 [#00000136]

Phobiazero: when trying to listen to some of the remixes, I
constantly got: 'Due to current high demand, the page you
are looking for cannot be delivered right now.' Is this
true, or sort of a bug (I remember this occurring rather
frequently with the old remix section as well)?

Phobiazero from Sweden on 2001-02-20 22:56 [#00000137]

That's the "bug" -- and the reason why we have to convert
them to Real Audio and put them on another server.

If someone is having webspace for us to store about 100 Mb
of mp3-remixes, then contact phobiazero@aphextwin.nu. You'll get well
credited and of course instant access to all remixes.

Torley Wong from Vernon, BC, Canada / WWW.TORLEY.COM on 2001-02-20 23:06 [#00000138]

by the way Phobiazero, i am just wondering -- has
Warp/Rephlex/RDJ himself ever raised any objections to these
fan remixes? i'd imagine they're jolly folks in general but
there might be copyright entanglement if one were to use
samples from the original tracks unless you've already asked
permission a long time ago and were already granted it. just
curious but i do hope the Remixes section is back soon :)!

think from here and now on 2001-02-20 23:09 [#00000139]

phob- how many "sections" can the webpage hold?
if there still is only 1 message in the origainal folder
after 2 weeks, i suggest it gets deleted, to make space for
IMPORTANT STUFF, my little suggestion
lots of commas,,,,,,,,,,,thanks.........think

diastole from doh! on 2001-02-21 11:54 [#00000165]

phobiazero>...and I only have 16mb of space to use, i would
have loved to help! but I know sweet f.a. about web
building, I only have a bog standard citizens homepayge
thing! I feel insignificant in comparison to your well
deserved needs! i will learn though, one day! ONE DAY!

Phobiazero from Sweden on 2001-02-21 13:56 [#00000169]

think: Why is "one-message-topics" less important?
Content counts. Anyway, if there ain't no replies to a
message then the topic will be placed very deep down in the
list (on another page) -- so it's somehow autosolved. No
problem at all.

hevquip on 2001-02-21 14:59 [#00000171]

i prefer non-topic messageboards. it's hard to keep track of
all the messages people leave this way. everything else is
great though.

diastole from doh! on 2001-02-22 16:54 [#00000222]

yeah.......i am in two minds...well, three if you count my
other personallity..HAHA...only joking, no i am not...sorry,
just anouther american moment...IE; NOT FUNNY! I AM GOING TO
OPEN A 'BELIEVERS OF; AMERICANS ARE STUPID' COMMENTS BBS.
do you think anyone would come and talk about it, could be
fun, I even think the americans would go to that!!!
LOLOLOLOL...ignore me, i have been traumatized by my pc
today...

diastole from doh! on 2001-02-22 16:59 [#00000224]

oh dear :¬( my special tribute to stupid americans didn't
fully achieve the desired effect up on the topics listings,
the whole title doesn't show!!......but it could look
intriguing...

TuneFish from T.O. on 2001-02-22 17:50 [#00000225]

okay i can suggest that we should set up an option, that is
listing all the messages in the old way one after one,
ordered by their date, and indicating the topic. That should
be good for oldfashioned people. :-)

Duff Man from Springfeild on 2001-09-17 07:38 [#00032869]

OH YEAH! LOVE THE NEW SITE! IT'S BITCHIN!!!!!!!!!!! OH YEAH!

Danny Tanner on 2001-10-23 09:06 [#00044631]

Is TuneFish an actual person? Or did you just make this
character up for tax purposes or something, it seems awfully
suspicious to me and Michelle here.

Danny Tanner on 2001-10-23 09:14 [#00044633]

I dislike Real Player.

"Can I really get banned from the Messageboard?
Yes, you can! If you pisses us off somehow then we won't
hesitate to ban you."

You do hesitate though, you must show no mercy and ban me,
ban me, ban me.

Aphextwin.nu versions 2,3 and 4 had a more unified design
through out the site. Plus one version (forgot which) you
were able to just register under any name you wanted, every
time you posted. Phobia how about you just use the graphics
from version 4 and use the back end code from xltronic?
