I had a session today and it was pretty strange.

I'm kind of doing it to please my wife, but have benefited
from it in the past.

Wrists, calves, feet, and hands were duly pricked, yet it
was my lower back that reacted. It was burning so much it
was beyond comprehension.

It was like i had been rubbed with tiger oil, for 30
minutes, with added spirit, benzine, and being light on
fire.

He said that if I could handle it, it was a good idea to
carry on. He talked about a surge of energy at its source,
the lower back apparently being where we can create chi
energy according to Chinese beliefs. He seemed happy,
stating it was quite rare.

The moment he took the needles out it stopped.

I feel less foggy. Or maybe I realize I had been feeling
really foggy lately.

On a side note, I've got a fucking bed to build. I knew
going to IKEA with the wife would be a mistake!

I can imagine a section of hell being an endless IKEA maze.

It's probably a lot of women's idea of heaven though. To
avoid being sexist I will mention knowing men who love going
there too.

That site has so many aids, you click the video and its like
'a video, what's that, please allow noscript for 87 things,
information what's that, please log in and enter user
account info and password and credit card at the paywall,
thanks. Someone said the internet interprets censorship as
damage and routes around it, well that site is the damage.
It looks like it was made by a media conglomerate who paid
someone to make a website with aaaall the "widgets", all the
social media plugins. A video shouldn't be that god damn
hard to watch on the internet, this isn't the internet, the
real internet hasn't even come because it's not allowed to
come. Sorry, I just see very few things that aren't worth
hating, everything is upside down and backwards, primates
have really fucked up everything. The system was organic and
beautiful, now we desperately try to create artificial
organic beautiful things on our computers, but they are
fraud reflections.

Ha ha ha, it has the weather on it, just like in that tim
and eric petting zoo skit. The weather, what a great web 2.0
bonus feature. Hmm, what's the whether like today, I better
go find out at w w w dot express dot co dot uk slash
something slash etc, lemme allow all these noscript widgets
to run, there it is , huh. Is that what they were thinking?

Ooo great two responses, I think.

Thanks for highjacking my thread so early, xlt bots. Great
work.

W m w, stop posting blocks of text and might read your
posts.

I understand, appreciate, whatever, that you have stuff to
say. Possibly more than your average person, but please: air
it out a bit. Smaller paragraphs would be a start.

Honestly I'm a reader, and have been known to mock those
scared of reading, but I come here when I'm winding down,
and nearly every time you or your little brother megatracks
show up it's always some rude, telling block of fucking
text.

I was just trying to help, like I saw the original post...
acupuncture... ok, I mean I had very little to work with. I
have a short attention span and almost nothing was lighting
up my imagination, it was boring to read. But I'll take a
break for awhile I guess, have at it. Enjoy your replyless
acupuncture soliloquy in the stillness of your own bad
breath. Good luck tolerating your own presence. It smells
like armpits in here. My favorite replies on the public
property of xltronic are my own so I usually try to make a
lot of them so there's actually something good to read on
here. Well, sorry, and see you around, suckers!

Are you going in for another session? Or is the IKEA bed the
next step in the process.

I'm all too aware of how scientifically difficult it is to
prove how some of it works.

It's helped me more than certain meds I take for my
condition though, so why should I not go into once in a
while?

I can't deny it helps my focus, and the burning sensation in
my back certainly wasn't a placebo. Something was going on,
and it's helped me greatly. Today is the most energized I've
felt in many months.

So yeah I'm not that bothered with your link.

it's easy to say "whatever works," right? people are even
with you for a while: "oh! yoga! kinda weird, but whatever
works, right?" then you get into "once i felt i understood
what yoga was trying to do i threw most of it out for a
point cloud of weasel metaphors" and no one understands. can
you get acupuncture... for... that thing? no, no, that's not
what i meant

offline EpicMegatrax from Greatest Hits on 2017-02-03 20:56 [#02512073]

i guess what i mean is this: if acupuncture is doing
something for you, figure out what. once you've begun to
figure out what it's doing for you, say: can i get more of
this, faster?

i'll throw out a practical scenario: have you ever heard of
an inversion table?

i don't have one, but a friend does. we had a chat, and i
thought to myself: "superb! now i have a way to explain
myself to anyone who walks in on me hanging upside-down off
the edge of my bed for fifteen minutes"

the bed is cheaper than the inversion table. the bed doesn't
require additional space. it does the exact same thing,
really. i'm proud i sorted out something like that on my
own, but had i seen an inversion table earlier i would have
figured it out earlier

"use whatever works, and take it from anywhere you can find
it." cite

I don't have a session to cure something, if that makes
sense.

I feel more focused, and more energized after a session.
That's it really.

Yoga? No thanks.

you're thinking of Yoga with a capital Y. capital-Y Yoga has
ladies in high-end Yoga Pants with flourescent neon Yoga
Matts meating at the Yoga Dojo and talking about who boffed
whose hairbob cargo.

yoga with a lower-case y is fixing yourself in a specific
position and breathing. then another position, and more
breathing. holding any position still for a long enough
period will do to your body-awareness what saying the same
word over and over for ten minutes does to your
word-awareness. conscious focus holds on one area until it
all starts burning with chakras or some shit and gradually,
every day, you learn to use individual muscle groups in your
back and core instead of moving them all as a blob. once you
get far enough into that, which positions you elect to
hold/breathe to get very tactical and absolutely no one on
the internet will understand

which positions you elect to hold/breathe to get very

to get very tactical
to get ver t cthia
to get her
chakras spinnin

it's lovely little cup of tea me that this is exactly the
same thing (an example of itself) in which i hold some words
together and strange gestalts bleed out. the awareness
starts with the moment i click "reply" as i begin to chrew
the fraze over and over. i flick back to see if i wrote it
that way. did i i really write it that way? shit, yeah, i
did. that's lovely little hard to describe tho get her done
in the n

TLDR: holding a position for a long time focuses you on what
goes into holding that position and stabbing someone with
little needles does the same thing, except it's more
unpleasant and costs money

i figure a good acu-puncture... technician? prickist? yes, a
professional prickist... no, shit, i'm losing the thread

it's like how a fortune-teller reads palms. i have callouses
on my hands from a pull-up bar but not on my fingertips like
a masonry worker would. anyone who shakes my hand and pays
attention to such details can immediately know a lot about
me from that handshake. a good acu-puncture person
("professional prickist") will be able to read you. know
which parts of your back you've been ignoring to the point
that it takes stabbing to get you to focus on them. this is
pretty much what jnasato does for a day job.

if horse stance doesn't make your chakras spin so hard they
burn -- and right fast -- then it's not horse stance.
there's a reason jackie chan tried to cheat horse stance
hail marys sensei gave him in the original 80s version of
"drunken master"

it's more that i've come back to this thread as you've come
back to acupuncture and i am not in control of this any more
than you were. however, since it's done this to us -- yes,
sure, i'd take a moment to ask "what does it mean" and
whatever answer you come up with is probably both correct
and important to consider
