got up after a nice dream of kissing girls, levitation and
ice cream. meds, cigarettes, watched some john oliver, meds,
veggie kiev and chips, cigarettes, watched some mad men,
meds, listened to the infinite monkey cage on radio 4, more
mad men, played a few games of chess. more meds, cigarettes,
came here, sleep

Day was alright. Man who Fell to Earth, Grand Budapest
Hotel, nice food, two baths, shrink, fun with the wife, it
snowed, walks with the dogs, not in that order.

Got this comic book I had ordered, Lost Girls. Pretty
unique, a bit much at times. Good art.

Yeah Moebius is a bit of a legend.

Yeah, Alan Moore and his wife Melinda Gebbie. Took them 16
years to finish it.

Squirrel curry. Coyote would be hard to kill with a bow and
arrow. They see everything.

today is not terribly good, so far. people do this thing
when i'm pissy, crabby, and want to isolate myself: they
decide it's time to bother me relentlessly.

are you ok? are you ok?

yes, if you want to get stabbed in the face, keep asking me

then for flavor an ex pops up and says "you owe me three
grand" and i really fucking don't. we broke up over a year
ago. you didn't decide i owed you money until you pissed off
your landlord and had to move and needed money and now
suddenly it's like i signed some fucking contract in your
mind. fucking fuck off. i don't even have three hundred you
cunt

A bit of work, a lot of the Sandman. I don't mean I was
asleep a lot, I mean the comic book.

Mrs Dust is already in bed, and I'm worried that like the
past two nights I'll end up falling asleep by five.

Bindu is keeping me company. He doesn't like it when I don't
got to bed at the same time as everybody else. Often, before
eventually cozing up to my fee, he just sits there and
stares at me. He can do that look from the Zoolander movies,
for a few seconds, before reverting to fuzzy cuteness, Andy
pretend shyness.

I'm bored actually. Could have a spliff, could write. Could
go through endless hours of music I need to sort out and
clean up. could read the Sandman some more. Could open that
Lost Girls book.

That Scorsese movie about some Wall Street freaks, with
diCapriot, is on in the background. I should stop doing
this. One thing at the time. One thing at the time. Now
wonder I can't fucking sleep lately.

Additionally, Levitin reveals that the phrase "paying
attention" is scientifically true. Multitasking comes at an
actual metabolic cost: switching back and forth between
tasks burns a lot more oxygenated glucose (the fuel the
brain runs on) than focusing on one task does, and can lead
quickly to mental exhaustion.

Or: when your more human side comes out.

Of course you're always being human, technically.

today, so far, has been a nightmare. it is my fault. i'm
doing what i can not to make it worse, but, as i'm doing my
best, i'm sure i'll still be making plenty of small mistakes
will culminate in other disasters down the line. it is a
fractal representation of my life. squarepusher is the joke.
i am squarepusher

seriously?

i swear to god, i am not going to be totally convinved this
is truly reality without a plane ticket over to see for
myself

^ I have a clothes dryer, but went most of my adult life
without one, the houses are small over here so space is of a
premium its much better than hanging your clothes out to dry
in a country that rains quite a lot

Clothes Dryers sound needlessly decadent. I live in a flat
and can still get my clothes dry... in under two days...

im convinced damp clothes caused the plague of mold we have
had in our kitchen, also had a cough for about half a year a
while back so clothes dryer has really helped alot, i do
worry about the build up of lint as a fire hazard though,
and it is noisy i rather not have endless utility bills and
bits of electronics everywhere, cant deny its convenience
though, nothing better than getting a warm pair of long
johns out of the dryer on a winters morn

today has been quite good. yesterday was relax, the
day before yesterday was relax, and today has been relax.
this is exactly the sort of thing i used to guilt-trip
myself about: i have so much stuff that is actively melting
down. i really should be attending to it.

however, i have learned that i cannot attend to much of
anything when i am angry, depressed, and burned-out. i have
a long history of cycling through: [panic, over-exertion,
collapse, depression, gluttony]. see previous work on this
subject.

panic and over-exertion are actually rather productive
stages, but the rest are somewhat counterproductive. knowing
thyself and getting older have meant the cycle has tamed
down. gluttony means eating a pint of ice cream. it used to
mean getting plastered and eating a pint of ice
cream. it's still no good, though...

so, yes, my new strategy: life can fucking wait. i need to
repair myself. the idea is to bust up the whole stupid
cycle: spend six or eight hours a day exercising. another
two driving. take care of myself thoroughly: sleep well, go
to bed early, shower, trim my nails. all the things i
typically neglect. do laundry, catch up on housework with
whatever time is left...

i'm figuring i'll do that again tomorrow and move into
monday with an aim to stave off the onset of panic for as
long as autisticly possible
