sounds like phobs thought of better stuff than I can think of anyway.
A way to view a text only version would be useful to me.
And I don't like it that so much of the top of the page is filled with stickies and links that I never use, maybe they some things can go in the margins or something

dirtypriest: * A little area that sums up the music artists that post on the board, with a pic, short description and a link,
something simple like that.
seems like you're talking about the member artists section of the site, which will include, but not limited to: 100 mb storage for track hosting, a blog for news updates & whatever, a small bio/discog (presentation), etc...

I can't really think of anything that hasn't been said already, the only feature I've really lusted after would be private messages. There was an argument a while back that it would take activity away from the board, but it wouldn't, because everybody wants as many people as possible to read their yammering anyway.

There is something that already crossed my mind a few weeks ago when I searched for some webspace so I can host some stuff..
What if premium members can buy some webspace at xltronic? If you ask the right amount of money it'll help you to maintain the site financially... If possible with datatraffic/webstorage etc of course.
If it seems succesfull you even might start a seperate service in webhosting which might pay off ;)

woah, xltronic v2 sounds pretty amazing! phobia, you're doing a hell of a job actually updating the site with WORTWHILE content! a lot of people just revamp their sites with either the same content or a clumsier design, as a token action more than anything else.
this is the shit!

this is actually what xltronic should have been like, years ago ;-)
but something good actually came out of this "tiny delayment"... we're now able to code everything from scratch, using new technologies, which would might have been cumbersome to implement into an existing "larger" site.
both tunemx and I have some hectic weeks in front of us, and we have both other projects and real-life issues, to take care of.... but we're both very eager to get xltv2 up and running finally. now, let's hope we wont run into any erratas.... which put things into a bitter end. ;)

How about a bit of CSS so that threads you've read are a different shade to those you haven't. When someone posts after you then it's marked as unread again.
Does that make sense?

giginger: would require some additional db queries. the plan is to optimize/recode the mb further (yeah, it's possible to make it even faster).... then check out what margins we have performance-wise and start adding new (exciting but non-critical) features.
please, give us more suggestions... we have a wiki full of improvements and TODOs which we're constantly updating and also implementing to xltv2...... keep it coming!!!

I think most of the best ideas have been said already, but I'd like to second a few of them:
I like scup_bucket's suggestion of making a back button straight to the index from a profile. But I suspect that the format of v2 will be different entirely so this point may be moot.
The expanded profile section is also a good idea.
The 'PM' or private message idea is good too.
The only one I don't agree with is the post-editing ability. The 30 second thing is a reasonable compromise, yet that seems like it'd be tough to implement.. but maybe not. I have very limited experience in web design.
A few additional suggestions:
The new search is fantastic, but could you add an advanced search function where in your query you could have several fields with varying domains, such as browsing/searching by member name, thread title, date, etc.? Also, an incorporation of " " for exact phrases, or some equivalent.
That's really all I can think of, other than that this is the best board on the net. I love the reasonable moderators who for once aren't on a powertrip and all too ready to consor stuff just because it violates some arbitrary rule. I thought about suggesting an ability for lots of cheesy, flashy siggies and blends and animations and emoticons but then I realized that not everyone on this board has arrested development and the clean layout might be better after all. :) cheers, looking forward to the new version!

Like we have the "Discuss this release". Could we possibly have the "Discuss this torrent/download" in the tracker?
That new search engine works a treat.

damn. i can't think of anything except the private message, perhaps in a form of a small chat window (like chat in gmail).
but people can communicate privately through different IMs, so there's possibly little sence in this feature.

Well, seems like I can't. I created that account and made the first payment. It worked. But I'm not able to transfer money to that account from my Visa anymore... Dunno why... I've tried to figure that out in the Paypal site, but with no luck so far.
I'll keep searching why...
Just thought straight payment with credit card would be easier.
Maybe I can try the bank-to-bank transfer and see if it works for me...

I am going to second the quote feature. I think that may be easier to follow than the actual followup.
The ability to use bullet and color in posts to make things more organised.
The spoiler feature would be a good one. I have seen some sort of html trickery that actually would fit the minimal theme of this board. Then again this was quite a while ago.
More room for fav+
more character space for typing. Perhaps double it? I think html like the lazy link and bold (etc) take up that space.
