i'm taking technical physics myself actually :o)

i'm in my fourth semester. the four first semesters are a
combination of maths and physics, but i will continue with
technical physics from the next semester.

yeah, it seems like a lot of people are bored of it man... I
respect the opinions and all, but I just don't see it...
it's not boring to me at all...

i'm taking more theoretical lections now, like QED and so
on. but i got fucked up by all those different concepts
recently, i just wanted to do something "real".

i'm worried about that the physical understanding sometimes
gets drowned in all the maths...especially in subjects like
quantum mechanics and the like. really looking forward to
starting with it, though.

are you going to study something else, or will you continue
on technical physics ?

i like the little in-between-tracks, with those vocals, but
i play mhtrtc more often

quantum mechs are really hard, cause it's an entiry new way
to look at the subject; but if you've coped those problems
once and for all it gives you a much deeper understanding.
i'm doing quantum field theory now and it's the same; when
you've figured out the maths it turns out to be beautiful.
i think i'll stay with physics. sometimes i think of
philosophy as second subject, but one is enough methinks

physics and philosophy are really close connected.

ok, mate. later.

It's just blank. That's it. John Cage has a song called
"4:44" which is just complete silence for "4:44."
Essentially, boards just ripped off his track. There's
nothing mystical or magical about it. It's very lame. It
was a so-so idea when it was original, and since it's been
copied it's just completely lame. I think Geogaddi is 6/10
stars. I'd have given it a 9 if it hadn't been for magic
window.

Magic Window was also a toy made by Wham-O! many years back
(check the photo, though it's not so good). It was two oval
pieces of plastic put together and filled with white and
blue sand. You were supposed to shake it around and watch
the sand move - pretty exciting. Those of you who are 30 or
so might remember it. Does it have anything to do with
this track??

6/10 is a cut down from 9/10 for a track which u cant hear
any way . everyone will froget about it in no time anyway
,they it i'll just be a 9/10 or 10/10 album again

jega, tusken raiders osv.

du da?

offline joakim from Norway on 2002-04-28 15:51 [#00197923]
Points: 327 Status: Lurker

go plastic, liker bedre de eldre tingene hans.

not only john cage has done blank tracks before boards of
canada...

so did coil in "absolute elsewhere" :)

The b-side, "Absolute Elsewhere", is intended to be
non-playable, and according to Coil:

* first pressing had unplayable noise-filled grooves
* second pressing had playable multi-layered music
* third pressing had a smooth, grooveless surface as
originally intended.

However, there's also evidence of two other versions
existing (perhaps the 1988 edition?):

* playable b-side with a constant tone for around 15
minutes.
* playable b-side with a series of "test tones" in
unconnected locked grooves.

for the vinyl version of "how to destroy angels"... on the
CD version (remixes and re-recordings), it's a 1-second
track of silence.

I haven't read all the posts but BoC were obviously taking
the piss with Magic Window thinking 'ahaha, lets see them
rack their brains and find a reason for this!'

Because lets face it, nearly every track mentioned on this
board people can give some kind of wack reasoning for

plastic); særlig feed me, hard normal og music is rotted
