my trip has come to an end... almost.

we missed our flight out of Paris. so we sobbed to the
ticket guy and he changed our flight for FREE and we ended
up laying over in NEW YORK.

my sister lives here with my new 2month old nephew so we
fanangled a connecting flight to Seattle that leaves monday
so i get to spend the whole weekend in NEW YORK CITY!!

it's like this trip will never end but i hadn't seen my
nephew yet (he is soooo cute) and i've never been to NY so
it's cool.

some of my observations from my adventures.

London: great town, nice people, too fucking expensive.
Tate modern museum is amazing. the Saatchie museum is the
most fucked up horror show of a museum i've ever seen so it
was also very cool.

Paris: big city some nice people. some assholes. people
drive crazy. dog shit all over the sidewalk. air is really
dirty. after only a few hours i was blowing black boogers
out of my nose. Louvere museum is a mind blowing
experience. you always hear it's big but when you see it,
you realize its MOTHER FUCKING HUGE!!

Barcelona: my favorite town on the trip. great vibe. very
friendly, helpful people. amazing archetecture (Gaudi's
stuff especially). And i can't believe how many beautiful
people there are in this city. everywhere you look,
georgous women and handsome men. stuff is very affordable,
even with the crappy exchange rate. so many scooters and
smart cars and very clean subways.

Nice (france): very fun town. nice people. beautiful
beaches. great food, moderate prices on things. probably
my second favorite town.

Rome: a huge, amazing city. people are mostly friendly but
a few times we felt the tension. great food. affordable
prices. but in some places, waaaay to many tourists. the
sistine chapel was fucking amazing though. i was forced to
break the rules and film some of it.

Venice: like a huge theme park. more tourists than locals
in most areas. but very beautiful. had to get to the
outskirts to really appreciate it.

yeah, barcelona sure is a brilliant place...like you can
feel the good vibe of the people there...too bad it's quite
remote from the rest of the europe though :)

of all the cities i visited, i'd most like to return to
Barcelona. or London if it ever gets more affordable. i
felt the safest and most welcome in those places. i felt
the most unwelcome and uneasy in parts of Paris and in parts
of Rome and Venice.

ahh,
i would have contacted you if i knew you were there.
but i am home now and very happy to see my cats again.
enjoy your time in Rome
and if you haven't seen it yet, i think the highpoint of my
entire trip was visiting the sistine chapel. well worth the
2 hour wait in line. it blew my fuking mind and i ain't even
christian.
