Um, I like abrasive music if its good. Case in point: "A Shocking Hobby" Its funny how people will come up with every excuse to defend their point (myself included). But I would like to rant on Snares a bit: WITBOAS, was better than most of his other albums, but there is nothing new in it, and the lyrics are complete overly-gothy bullshit. There were a few good tracks, but please, his style is overrated bigtime and listening to it is more of a annoying workout than an enjoyable music experience. Vsnares is definatly not the most talked about person (do a search for Aphex, Autechre, and BOC) and it should stay that way. Hes just some underground artist with a gimmick that you are drooling over because you like to be 'down' with 'hardcore' 'drill'nbass'. To prove this point further, he lacks traditional music composition skills as can be easily determined by his melodies and lack of counter-melodies. Heres a guide on how to make your music sound like Snares: 1. Start song with a cheesy horror movie sample and/or fast drill beat. 2. Continue 'random' beat 3. Add a melody with 3 notes 4. repeat 5. add some more cheesy samples if you didn't put enough at the beginning. 6. End track. Feel free to change the order of events as you see fit. OH GEE I WONDER WHAT HIS NEXT ALBUM WILL SOUNDS LIKE!!!!? 1. Chopped up amen break with cheesy samples 2. Chopped up cheesy breaks with amen samples 3. Noise 4. Annoying Noise 5. Crap ______________ Anyways, I believe that Aphex and Squarepusher do a way better job at doing similar music. At least they know how to string basslines and chord progressions in a far more interesting manner that not only keeps me from throwing my stereo out the window, but they actually make me feel some sort of emotion other than "rage". Ta. |
