I think this messageboard is great! Where else do you meet
electronic musicians all over the world? As someone who
doesn't spend much time on messageboards in general, I fail
to see what all the fuss is about. I just ignore idiotic
posts on this or any other board.

Anyway, I hope this stays on as a place where there can be
casual and serious music discussion for fans and musicians
alike. Not to mention these great mp3 compilations. I've
never seen a better and more active place on the internet
for this kind of music.

i agree.

and i find it really embarrassing that sometimes people on
the board simply tend to forget that MUSIC is (or should be)
the reason why we’re here and the thing that really
matters.

How could we stay mad at that face? :D

I liked dobbins idea btw. If the trolls only motivation to
spam the board is admiration as ophecks suggested, I think
an embarrassing status title would be enough of a deterrent.
I believe creative status titles is incentive enough for
people to chill oot. God I hope I'm not on Phobia's list. :P

Ophecks is right man, I'd be like a parapalegic camel
without this MB. It's a great place to find and explore new
people/things/ideas....and shouldn't be used as a ploy to
gain notoriety or fame just cause you post like a mad freak
scientist or something.

Sure, this Theo guy sounds like he read too many
dictionaries in another life, but really do we have to be on
such a level???

I'm all for banning these childish trolls. Don't sacrifice
the whole board for the people who actually enjoy it.

maybe just a few months. :D

changed because of the behavior of a few 'challenged'
individuals. That'd just be silly IMO. Alot of dedicaion

Don't get rrid of the MB, it's a grreat place. As farr as I
can tell (even though flaming may be worrse) the MB has
equally as many good topics and posts as it has bad topics
and posts, just like it did in the past, only in the past i
think it was maybe worrse.

Is chit-chat bad? Yes it's a MB, but people can still
chit-chat on a MB rright? It maybe chit-chat but most of the
time it is arround a theme, that would be totally lost in a
shitty chat rroom.

I think you should just ban the trroublemakerrs, and why not
afterr all they arre trrouble makerrs.

I don't think the point system matterrs an ounce, scrrap
that if you think it makes people spam.

phobia, it'd be a lot more easy to vote when we actually
know what +- the release date of xltronic will be. If it'll
be released within the next 2 months, you can go right ahead
and close this down. I don't have a problem with that but it
would definitely suck if we'd have to wait for 6 months or
god knows how long.

I think you should ban whoever needs banning... my only
problem with banning is that their never seems to be a
reason given, and it sometimes might seem like random
banning is happening... so, I think if you banned people who
deserved it, and then maybe posted the reason for everyone
else to read, it would probably do the trick... banning
people is definitely necessary, but keep the good posters
informed on why certain people are banned so we keep the
moral level up...

i say ban the meanies and just set the record straight. i
also agreed with a post earlier on in the thread about
changing the status thingies, and say, giving each user a
warning every time they cross the line. after so many
warnings, they're gone. i think it would be a good idea.

Have a once-a-week posting of the black list. Folks will
know they're on probation regularly without a big fuss. If
they're not on it the next week, no problemo. If you don't
see them posting anymore, you'll know what happened :).

more moderators shutting down more lame topics.

point deduction and "scarlet letters" and temp/perm bans
after repeated warnings.

these things will help i believe.

But in the end, do like i do and just ignore lame topics and
the trolls.

though...
The moderators are doing a good job in my opinion, just
because you feel like acting like an asshole dosent mean you
have to take it all out here, people have enough shit in
their everyday life, they dont need more of it here. I say
shut down the site till the whole thing is complete.

My two cents (for what it's worth):

There was a thread long ago about the quality of topics
here, and I suggested that because of the easy, impulsive
ability to post, that perhaps a limit on the number of posts
in a given period could be made - this would force people to
consider using their posts more wisely and not waste it on
some of the drivel that I've seen on this board. If a
posting limit is not desireable, then how about the
aforementioned warning system - we are going to have this
feature soon on our board where everyone will have a
'warning status' that the mods can use to let someone know
they've fucked up. I'm not 100% decided if we'll use it or
not, but it will be there if we need it.

Back to the subject at hand though, perhaps a cooling off
period would be in order - I've considered this before when
the overall quality of the board has sunk below a certain
level, but I watch, and eventually things work themselves
out. Since this board's very nature is to post rapidly, I'm
not sure if left unchecked this situation would clear itself
up.

Another thing to look at or ask yourselves is why do so many
people want to start trouble here? If you can find a reason
behind that, you'll possibly have the solution to the recent
rash of bad threads and attitudes.

"warninglevels" is to be implemented in future versions of
this messageboard. we've discussed it already. members
familiar to AIM knows what I'm talking about.

i guess everyone is frustrated about the missing site tho -
lack of conten. im sure everything will be fine as soon as
we have more contents and it'll all get more "music-related"
once again.

the discog alone will get people into interesting
discussions. its quite natural humans are getting restless
when they are not getting stimulated and it results in
dramas and disputes.
