She took the picture for me. I used it WITH her permission and then later changed back to this cute little red ass. He modified my avatar at the time for his own. It doesn't bother me but it bothers Sylvia which is why she made this thread. I think that if he doesn't have permission to use her photo then he shouldn't. |

it's just a joke though, like my parody (which, in case i haven't been clear enough, neither had a photo of her nor even mentioned her.. it was one of those subtle jokes all of 2 people got when i had the avatar up). a lot of avatars over the last year and a half have gotten jacked by other people, everyone else so far has taken it in stride (including me, two or three times). you just have to roll with the punches. |

so really i'm split, i can see what both sides are saying.. on the one hand, it's a pic of CG (not just any avatar), so she feels kind of naked (heh) being recontextualized without her express permission.. on the other hand, it is very much social criticism and also once you put your avatar up, or allow someone else to use a pic of you in a bra as their avatar, you do lose control of it and have to face the consequences of that. so really both sides make good points. |
