People seem to think the ragga/DnB hybrid stuff he played at
ATP and seemed so smug about was actually Smojphace. I'd
like it if it was, it was really good stuff a totally new
direction for him.

1) smojphace is easy to say.. "smodge" "face"

2) its a cool name.. at least its not kmvorbnklmchk29 or
something..

3) if his set at ATP was anything like the shows he did a
few days before in Norway/Sweden/Germany.. (and i think they
were all nearly identical) then I can identify 99% of those
tracks and say for sure that none of them are smojphace, in
fact.. many of those cute are upwards of 2 or 3 years old..
some much older.

4) smojphace is well wicked!

LeCoeur - Yes it's a shit title, I've been bitching about
the title since I first heard of it.

Stupidest named album that I'll probably ever buy.

um does anybody think this is strange? like.. ragga jungle
had its day back in like 95/96 ~ is it really oldschool
enough to come back? and will it be any better when it does?
has there really been some sort of underground ragga techno
movement that ive missed out on where the genre has evolved
or mutated?/

smojphace definately something unique to Richard, but we
interpret it as silly or sloppy sounding... I'd judge the
word by Richards l33t sp3ak, but since I cant read his mind
and he'll probably never tell us, I will just say that I
dont care about the name. Why am I even writing this?

Hey pomme de terre,
There is a track/loop in aphex live @blaa, olso (16 :10 /16
:40) that is very good, sounds a bit like the
afx/squarepusher track from wap100. Do you know the titles
of its track (if released, of course) ?
The second track at the beguining of the set
(electro/techno) is ace too : any infos ?
thanks

funny that Mr. SoundMurderer doesn't reply to the
questions:

-what his artist name is at rephlex
-how many tracks smojphace has
-if he could name one particular part of one of the tracks
to show that he's heard it

..ooh but i'm sure you've heard it dude,
i mean, if you say so
it must be true

3 tracks. I think, side a :the bug remix, side b: 2 noise
tracks (a la russel haswell).

the reason 'ragga' jungle is making a come back is because
drum'n'bass is so dire at the moment and full of pilled up
kids wanting trancey 2 step loops (with a token old-skool
stab fest), and the original dark and ganja vibes are gone.
bring back the funk and mentalism in other words.

what do you mean with 2 noise tracks?

and what about the lengh of those tracks?

how is the bug mix? is it a mix by aphex on the bug track or
a mix by the bug on an aphex track?

i'm suprised no ones said anything about the soundmurderer
mp3 set i put a link up to earlier.
Too busy arguing/asking questions/dicking about i suppose.

there was only 1 big mp3 on that site..

so in conclusion: soundmureder is real, and really has been
to AFX's house, and really is signed to rephlex, and really
is 20? cunt!

i worked my self into a sweat jumping about to it this
morning.
the bug remix is a afx remix of the bug's "run the place
red", ave a look at the rephlex site for an mp3 snippet of
the original.

and btw get the bugs album, it fucking mashes

I listened to it.. just a bunch of raggajungle records from
about 5+ years ago.. i mean, he had full rinse at the end
and that was cool. I've never heard this guys own
production, but if he's signed to rephlex i guess it might
be pretrty good.

anyone got links to his stuff?

oh yeah smojphace ep. sounds like a real disapointment.. 1
remix and 2 noise tracks? back in my day, we didn't call
this an EP, im sorry. 2 REMIXES BY AFX had more content
than this and it was just labeled as a 12". What a fuggin
letdown.. I mean, the new material will be nice to hear, it
just sucks that it was promoted as an EP.

how can he release the bug remix on smojphace and then on
the bug single also - what a rip off!

and then two noise tracks? - come on - he's gonna get slated
