love...

This is strange...to me Alberto is a a really happy tune and
its gives me strenght and motivation, its not sad at all to
me the same with Roybvib...

Rhubarb and Lichen is pretty sad tho---

I agree that they both give me strength and motivation,
maybe it's that which makes me cry - it's like listening to
the wise words of someone you love and respect. They're not
depressing at all. Alberto Balsalm is a goodbye song to me,
though. It doesn't make me cry until the bridge/chorus
thing, it's like a strong but gentle hug from someone you
care very much about and won't see for a long time.

lately: ziggomatic

I have never out right cried. But it is overwhelming, the
muscial power. It has happened to me with lots of music or
artist I regard highly.

There are a lot songs which really touch my emotions, but I
remember one song (maybe there are more, I don't know right
now) that made me really cry
Orb-promiss
tears of happiness I must say!

Especially when I'm tired I put music on and I just chill
out on my bed.
When I'm tired music has a great effect on my subconsious
mind : I start to see images, it's like I have dreams which
are controlled by the music sometimes.

(that's also the way I create the titles for my own songs,
just by describing those images I see while listening)

I used to really like geogaddi, but I don't listen to it
anymore as it gets me down. It's very good music, and it's
not really melancholy in the traditional sense, but I get
quite sad when I listen to it all the way through.

Ceri JC: really interesting how music can effect someones
mood.
I really think most people aren't aware of this and they
keep asking themselves why they feel so shit and why their
life is so shit while they are listening to i.e. deadmetal

One night I was sitting in my dark room and felt very, very
lonely. Winamp was in shuffle mode and it started to play
Vangelis - Blade Runner Blues. It made me feel ten times
lonlier, I could't do anyhing but cry.

The really beautiful song on Come to Daddy, i nearly cried,
the first time i heard it my lip started to quiver but there
were other people in the room so i couldnt just start crying
over a song. I had heard the title track come to daddy the
version he made the video to. But i hadent heard the rest
of the album until recently, on friday when i get paid im
buying Come to daddy.

''father - lennon''

YES, me too... and it really hits home for me, it gets me
emotional everytime. And that screaming at the end is
amazing.

bell & sebastian last track on boy with the arab strap makes
me sad, mostly because of the memories. actually the whole
album instills great melancholie within me, even though
there are happy moments on there.

I can't remember crying to a song on its own, but it happens
many times in a movie when there's an overlay of images and
sound. I don't think it could happen without the specific
song, so that's a case where a song could trigger some
emotions. I can think of Donnie Darko, Magnolia and Welcome
to the Dollhouse as cases where it was precisely the song
that made me go over that magical threshold between emotion
and tears.

Some people, too many people, think of Titanic and Celine
Dion's nauseating ballad. As for myself, that sort of
sentimentality makes me angry more than sad.
