Turns out the mellow track from the beginning is called
clustro casual.

You know, for casual fans

I remember that radio session where they played all those
long versions of stuff from Confield and earlier releases,
that was great. They had to edit a lot. Would love to hear
those in proper quality as well

Wow, icari. What an epic track. On first listen this is my
favourite session so far, love the ambient tracks, the
industrial sounding track in the middle. And that closer!

Shit haven’t listened yet, but I like your enthusiasm.

Signeduptolol is a fortune teller, as some on watmm are
saying a lot of session three is “not the ae they know”.
It’s not crazy enough. Then the next person will have a
mind melt. Great art. Can’t wait for this, I’ve put the
WAVs in my phone to listen in bed.

Sesh 3 is sp(l)esh! Listened to the first half in bed last
night and my head was melting. Love it.

The second half is where it gets more unfamiliar, in a good
way. Listening to icari again now, my new favourite thing,
with that laidback groove, the bass hits and so much going
on

Since they are silent on issues such as transgender toilet
access, the Black Panther movie and that boy that made a
clock that apparently looked like a bomb, as well as the
fact that not one member of this Autechre is from a minority
background, we are forced to conclude that they are staunch
Trump supporters and they secretly played his inauguration
party.

trk1clustocas ya just simple thanks out front. their call
any which one just know to jet off elsewhere take it any
which way at the turn of a but always simple thanks when
they let it play out simple steady. y7, nth db, + add this
one just immediate impedance match. cant say dont think
ever been type for playthroughs one after another dont build
experience based on track into track, always latch onto that
one and run on repeat for days on end. this one of those
rare with no distractions no one off sound or sequence to
cue on throughout to signal where at in the track. entirely
decorrolated no reference point just steady state end to
end. this is this one that set sail for me

it was some time back a jk tune and all i could
think about was 1. how the hell did i not know about shakers
and pretty much the best thing in the world. and from that
on thinking how great it would be for every all day mundane
activity have those shakers perm in the background keeping
you on. only way i can express trk1. t's a few spots in
fluere that unfort knock me out of it cause silly one
sequence but ya this one sits so well back there just wish
could find a way to embedd it in

I'm using earbuds with a bit of extra bass and it works well
for these releases, which I find otherwise a bit peaky in
the high end.

Well, this is definitely up there with one of my favourite

agressive, sad, funny etc... it also seems to englobe all of
their precious work. A masterpiece. Chuffed

great writeup in RA

"The often overlooked fact, though, is that Autechre have
been steadily refining their craft. Over the past decade or
so, important refinements were being made that are now
coming to fruition. Especially since elseq 1-5 and the live
recordings of 2015, patterns have emerged. Tones and grooves
have become familiar. We're still being led down a
discombobulating maze. But the logic governing the twists
and turns is becoming clearer and more powerful. "

[...]

"The majority of artists in Autechre's cohort either dropped
off in quality or entered the extended victory lap period of
their careers. Partly because their music doesn't contain
the melody and repetition of, say, an Aphex Twin, critics
haven't been especially vocal about how unusual it is that
Autechre, an already insanely overdeveloped act, are still
developing. NTS Sessions 1-4 will elicit the same critiques
as any Autechre album in the last decade, but it's their
best record in many years."

very agree

I want to say something as now we're at "all end", but I
think we're in territory beyond review or... words. I will
say I am thoroughly taken by the richness of this
experience, the feeling that you could isolate a small
section and find worlds within it. Does it speak about the
world around us, internal states, images of immense space
ships colliding, landscapes, the sea, life seething...? Is
it itself, self-contained? It's a sound that's alive, that's
stepped over (overstepped) ideas of genre and gone right the
fuck off out of it. This is new, and now, and we're blessed
to be here (hear).

Fucking astonishing 8 hours of.... I don't even know what it
is. Everything and everything more.

Suffering from NTS withdrawal here!

Just listening to Session 3 again. It's like they forgot the
big beat in nineFLY, but you can still hear it.

Yeah I get pictures of the Mind ships from Iain M. Banks's
Culture novels, having entire conversations among themselves
within nanoseconds. Lonely droids in empty spaceship hulls.
Love the distorted guitar-esque sounds too
