was listening this morning, round 40-45 minutes in is where
it stops sounding like Slow Electro Necro and there's some
sprightlier material. That's the jolly Autechre we all know
and love!

I feel it all differently. This is why this is good art.

They’re clearly jamming, at least parts.

i was quite into the slow beginning, must be used to a lot
of halfstep rhythms from dubstep n whatnot. though the later
stuff did tingle my audiobooks better i agreed

i dont think this is idm, its a mechanical process that
bring them to this, i agree with belb with the beginning,
very serious and black music, then it was just a computer
performing analog instruments rhythm where i said 'brazil',
then was bored to death by the jamming on the 4/4 rhytm and
quitted.

offline mohamed from the turtle business on 2018-04-06 20:59 [#02548413]

you know whats the difference between this and idm? that
this makes analogue music with a pc and idm uses analog
partitures for computer music. haha, such twats, you can say
its idm at kilometers of distance

so to conclude i agree with your enthusiam Russell, but its
just like you was in love with this music, that you cant
look at it objectively. like a fanboy.

I think most enjoyed it. To a certain degree. Also me
enjoying it just means I enjoyed it, and it should not be
positioned against a mass consensus. The slower parts spoke
to fleemtouse and dog. I thought that was interesting.

i think they should convert to the aphex twin ism and make a
collection of slow dark music, a collection of analogue
rhythms, and so on

step up their game and give people dedicated stuff and not
just bits

offline mohamed from the turtle business on 2018-04-06 21:55 [#02548435]

aphex twin is the only one that makes analogue music with
analogue partitures

all just ask this end around iz bit more dynamics if proper
is released would be nice. bit unlike them re the live
stuff few years back runs super hot in a few trakc
transitions but perhaps just at mercy of where in sig chain
happened to jot it all down from.

unbearable so loud and pushed up really unlike them - to
point of unbearable across track nume transitions. have had

knocks out of the mood to point is lost. yjy ux on the

II can't be alone in thinking that this is very much Ae's
"Trump" album, their highly politicized follow up to their
Anti ep.

this sounds like stuff from AE_LIVe
the 2016 stuff soounded upgraded to that, i was suprised
that theyd gone that far in that little time
so i reckon this might be evolving over the 4 x sesh into
New_sound

“Our music tends to sound shit in mp3”

- Sean ‘Grumpy’ Booth

I’m sure it’ll be fine, but if ever I can sort you out.
You sorted me out once. Assorted sorting outs.

I’m fucking excited.

sounds pretty alright to my uncultured earholes! i think
wavs would be wasted on me anyway, got pretty cheapo phones.
fanx for finking of me anyway man, i came here today
expecting a proper rip from one of the wattm goons but this
is a much nicer surprise, knowing there's still so much to
come

It seems like the programming, and the bouncing off each
other has become the trunk, or the basis of their musical
structure, at least more so than ever. It’s like the rest
is fed through it, and this is what we get to experience.
The melodies and grooves are still there, but fuck me
they’ve become a bit of a tease! I appreciate it though.
It’s not like outfront melodies, and reassuringly
recognisable rhythmic structure aren’t out there. This is
aE music.

Whatever starts, or gets into gear, at about 1 hour and 18
minutes in is my fave, what a beast.

I think they're getting better, this is IMO more rewarding
the elseq, which I find a fairly loveless grind. It's
interesting, sure, but hard to love. This, along with that
glut of live stuff, as said above, is great.

I tell you an album of theirs I don't think aged well, Exai.
There, I've said it.

offline Netlon Sentinel from eDe (Netherlands, The) on 2018-04-10 12:18 [#02548630]
Points: 4736 Status: Lurker

There are a couple of gems on elseq though, which serve as
pay-off to me coming out of that grind. Which makes the
whole experience better. I never really 'got' Exai though.
