finally! it's been forever since their last output. i miss
the 90's when ae used to release new material every year, no
brutal 3 year hiatus!

anyhow, it's not even next year yet and already 2008 is
better than 2007 idm-wise.

Jesus.....

Live albums albums are generaly released by artists to get
out of contracts early, the same with compilations, and
(sometimes) double albums. (see Druqs, and 26 mixxes for
cash).

Why would you want a second disc with old tracks on?

Some of those tracks are still available, and if not, slsk,
or ebay if you want the originals.

Whats wrong with a single disc with new material?

Kids these days......

disc 2: acapella

i wasnt saying a live disc. i was saying a disc from the
source materials they used from the 05 tour. they obviously
worked on that set for a long time and used it for a long
time. thats all. my opinion. im excited for a 2 disc release
but i wont be disappointed if its 1. its new autechre for
fucks sake......

.......kids these days..........?

reviewing! autechre's new album. my name is... err.. but you

i don't really feel comfortable giving you my home address,
but if you just upload a torrent of the album onto, say,
waffles.fm or what.cd, and i could just download it from
there, i'm sure that'd just make things a whole lot easier

I don't understand why they even bother making promo copies.
Who actually decides to buy an "IDM" record based on a
Pitchfork review? It just encourages the early leak.

As for me, I'll probably listen to the leak and hate myself
for it :(

double albums are the name of the game these days... i
was
just listening to a Karl Hyde interview from 2004 where has
was basically saying that, facing the onslaught of P2P,
labels and artists need to be able to provide good value
for
money so that people will continue buying music in this day
and age.

Or they could write great music.

offline deflax from Plovdiv (Bulgaria) on 2007-12-06 04:38 [#02151256]

Yep :) Thanks to the p2p it becomes hard to earn profit from
music. The quality will continue to rise in all genres.. so
I think and hope that this will be great Autechre release ;)

Warp should do this and then they would rule:

-You can download it for free NOW at 192kbps.

-If you spend $5 you can download it at 320kbps or FLAC.

-If you spend $15 you get a HQ download AND a CD in the mail
with kickass art booklet.

-If you spend $25 you get the HQ download and you get it on
Vinyl and on CD.

-If you spend $35 you get the download, Vinyl, CD, and a
multimedia DVD with several music videos from Quaristice
designed by leaders in the field: Scott Pagano, Joshua
Davis, Flight404, Rutterford, Cunningham, etc.

-If you spend $50 you get all of the above, and your choice
of 1(of 2) limited edition autechre t'shirts: Autechre or
Quaristice, respectively.

-If you spend $100 you get all of the above and a reserved
ticket to any venue of your choice (within your country) for
the 08 Quaristice tour. (assuming they announced the tour
alongside the release).

That would be crazed/lush if it happened.

Perhaps free at 128kbps, 192 is too good for free IMO.

You're right, 128 then it is... Shit man, if the purchasing
page took you to a secure place where you could select the
venue... The tour would sell out before it even started.
The $50 cost (after the $50 is taken out for the items)
would be split right there between the label and the venue.
The venue wouldnt even have to front anything. They'd make
their money without even having to promote the show (thereby
saving more costs).

HELLO WARP! Are you listening?!?

Right, because visualizing sound and including interesting
design into the packaging element is such a new concept.

To this day, Draft 7.30 on vinyl is still some of the
coolest looking shit.
