i wish you wouldn't talk down to me like that. In my opinion, saying "tech students are like that" (with or without the complimentary 'dumbass' at the end) is incredibly single-minded. We're talking about someone who was studying pure English at a tech. Not English and mechanical engineering. As I said earlier, "Sure it's a tech, but come on." It baffles me that someone could reach their final year in any kind of third level institution with material of that quality. As for the other point - the over-the-top laugh. Well, i just nearly broke my shit laughing at how incredibly stupid such a remark was and rushed to post it. I'm long past despairing for American society - I've completely and utterly given up on it. Hence the laugh, which, I might add, wasn't sarcastic, it was a laugh of complete frustration, if anything. Sad and stupid thing to say? Yes it was. But this is the nth one I've heard from some dumb yank fuck abusing their 15 minutes of celebrity on the airwaves, unable to come up with anything to say but a complete inanity. bogala i find it funny that now 'you get' the growing anti americanism thats plagued all of europe. reply to marlowes comment: according to the geneva conventions any unlawful combatant of war does not get a fair trial. america has argued that captured members of al-qaeda do not fall into any of those categories, saying that al-qaeda members don't wear uniforms of any sort with fixed distinctive sign, or obey the laws of war. if you think about it, it would be very difficult to carry massive trial counts on suspects who dont identify themselves as fighters to begin with. my belief is that it wouldn't be all too difficult to identify them as enemy combatants. all you would have to do is shed some gun shot residue (GSR) on their hands and wah lah. there u got ur suspect, put em in the can and on to the next. |
