i like the look of xlt just the way it is however, i would only change the topic layout and such - if you took the look of xlt but added the subject of topic layout of other message boards i think this would be nice

sometimes it just seems like everyone is only watching the current topics at the top of the message board and waiting to get into discussions based on who is in the thread - if you section off areas by subject it might allow for more of a messsage board type of discussion versus a chat room.

don't be so negative, recycle. do you help out by starting music-related thread only? i know you feeling for xlttronic is (almost) as strong as mine, but every 5th message is related on how shitty xltronic has become (although it's not really worse than before).

let's all help out by discussing as much music as only. we do our best to close and delete totally unnecessary and messy topics, but even I am aware of how important slightly off-topic threads are for the ongoing buzz here.

and yes, xltv2 is much more closer to a release than even 4 months ago.

come on, off topic thrreads comprrise about 90% of all messageboarrds, it's the only way forr a 'community' to arrise... lots of talking, about lots of things. if you go to an evening class you talk mostly about what you did durring the day, tv prrogrrams anything but what you'rre learrning. if all we discussed was music and new rreleases this place wouldn't be a frraction of what it is.

howeverr, forr people who come herre one day to parrticularrly discuss music, it must be damn annoying to find that yourr thrread has vanished because off topic thrreads get morre attention. that's only naturral though.

and although i'm against the idea of:
-On Topic -New rreleases -Old rreleases -Xlt memberr music -Spam herre
  -Off Topic
  -Other
  -Suggestions etc...
it woudn't hurrt an ounce to have two sections On and Off Topic.

and as farr as all this 'tell people who do nothing but hate to leave', fuck that, you can't. messageboarrds have trrolls who come only to flame, they have people who arre angrry forr an assorrtment of rreasons who sometimes blow off steam, people who just don't get along and do nothing but bickerr, that's the interrnet, that's life, i'm afrraid. it would be nice if all of that shit could be kept to the Off Topic section, it'd keep a focus in the otherr section, a focus that's been completely lost herre.

the filtering sounds pretty hot. you could add another slot for non-moderator average-person categorization of threads. then basically every thread would get some sort of classification, and people could apply really powerful filters.

It's "safe" to led regular users (or people with premium accounts only?) do this since, unlike letting everyone be a moderator, the worst that could happen is filters don't perform as well as they could have..

i hate the idea of filterring, just because you don't want to rread WmW's nonsense doesn't necessarrily mean that you don't want to parrtake in a converrsation about how shit smells, which may both be filterred underr the same descrription

lets be fairr, these filterrs arren't going to be especially specific arre they. so you'll have the option of filterring (almost) all orr nothing, and have to change yourr settings to switch. why not have two forrums, save the grrief of having to botherr with labeling topics.

"let's all help out by discussing as much music as only. we do our best to close and delete totally unnecessary and

It's all in your hands... Since the updating of the Discography stopped there seem to be less music related topics. There is so much good music out there and these topics sometimes pushed me to check some of them out.
I know your reply will be that v2 will continue with it.. but all the albums that are submitted by then can be easely copied to the new database.. right? And I guess it'll take a while (months?) before v2 will be up.. so there's going to be a lot to catch up with.

  ps. Please delete this topic.

how about a link to a page of, say, "currently blocked topics" or something? it could be like the normal post viewing, you choose to see 25 or 50 of the topics you've blocked and so-forth. Maybe you could limit it to those topics that would be on your front page if you hadn't blocked them or something?

Then, if it was a separate thing you opened in a separate tab/window, it wouldn't interfere with your "normal" surfing, but you could still access the blocked topics if you were ever in the mood for some spam or nsfw....

I don't know if its been suggested, but a rating system for the different threads could be usefull. Showing something like "viewed by ** users. *.*/5"

It wouldn't really do much other than allow people to sort by group favorites or least favorites. Or it could just become a popularity contest. And it could help people decide if somethings worth reading...

phobizero: i think we have the same idea about this board, its great, good times and all, but the board HAS CHANGED, im not just getting older. YOu used to be around here a lot more as did the older/more mature members, who loved to play around and discuss music and whatknot.

Now there is little to no supervision/the mods typically dont care what NSFW pics get posted, and pron crap. My work is cool, but it doesnt "flow the board"

lately yes :) what about the past 1-2 years.... its not like you have to live here or nothing, we all have lives
(some way more than others) and as ive mentioned to you in emails, and have tried to mention to the board memebers.....people are being absolute "COCKS" (as ecnad's pic says) to each other, and its not in a fun playful way. Some of your mods included :(

Say if the user has a bog or news feed etc, you click on their username and there profile could have a space to display their news feed headline?

And perhaps a button on the message board which would lead to the users news feeds so you could quickly get to know what the users are up to?
