I got a studio...... don't know about this whole adding a
pic of it.... it's in the basement of my house. it's pretty
raw... but it reminds me of Tresor. Which I do like.... My
neighbor has come over many times to complain about the
bass.

And if I could I would probably spend all my time down in
it. It's dirty, it's gritty and I love it.

gear wise: QY700, MPC4k, tr909 bunch of other stuff.... I
use Nuendo to do some sequencing.. .but mostly it's just a
poor mans protools. I like to sequence live (thus the gear)
and edit the tracks later.... it works just right for me.

offline vveerrgg from life (Canada) on 2006-06-26 08:24 [#01927496]

if you wanna see some video of me noodling in the studio.
Give this link a look. (its in quicktime) OR... if you want to hear
my tunes.... you could always check this link.

I podcast from my studio every other week and post it. So I talk
about my tracks and all sorts of stuff.... it's pretty
random.

damn... if I could post a pic I would show and prove....

that is if you want to be original anway.

lol we can't just all be afx or wendy carlos, even with the
same gear :D
but i must admit i'm a really, really lazy guy, so i mostly
enjoy myself improvising alone, i never recorded or
sequenced something since 2003 i think...

it's cool when you do stuff for your own enjoyment..but lots
of poeple here seem to think they're doing something
exceptional when in reality it is pretty boring and all
heard before. this doesn't apply to everyone ofcourse.

i know too much what you mean, it happens all the times (not
just here, or on the net...) but probably is quite normal,
considering the level of ego involved in the process

for my part i'm going more in the production direction,
sound manipulation is what i love, especially on the pc,
which sucks for composing inspiration/creativity wise imo

i think i still have some early songs i did back in early
2k, must find them in the bazaar that is my hdd (i'm already
laughing thinking about the song i did for the xltvibes #6
:D)

in some ways I can relate and agree... in the end everything
is old to someone... but that isn't reason enough to try
it.. live it (sometimes for a second or third time) and
share it out. There are always people who'll never have
experienced it before.... and sometimes its not the fact
that it has or hasn't been done before that makes it
relevent. Its' the perspective of the person who's
performing/composing it that makes it interesting and
relevent.

Hell there's been anst filled Punk since Sid Vicious, but
still lots of bands pop up outta nowhere saying the same
things and exploring the same issues..... and for whatever
reason they find a way of accessing a different group of ppl
that those original punk bands have either grown beyond, or
never accessed.

As my dad would say "everything has it's season." and what
might be out of season for you... is probably just coming on
for someone else... yadda yadda yadda.... quoting parents
sucks.

Im just saying, you're being rather harsh.

Maybe the music IS dull... but whats the point on going
around saying it? Seems like you're just raining on the
parade for the sake of it.

There's quite a lot of people on here whos music is
objectively quantifiable as being "interesting" and "good",
and diverse. About half the people currently online I'd say
have all done at least some music that is pretty hot.

we all make the best music by fact and name alone.... it's a

nice melody to go along with.

Not everyone is into eclectic brainiac music, some people
just like nice simple techno so originality isn't really
much of an issue.

i dont want original stuff all the time, there cant be that
many styles that are actually good. The same old tricks
still work on me.

Yup, my thoughts exactly. Most of the time I just want good
solid electro or techno. The rest of the time I'll put on
some AFX or BOC.

i like to make beats. so if you don't like my beats, i'm not
doing my job properly... i feel my setup gives me the chance
to do all sorts of crazy ass beats, that will hopefully get
someone dancin. or at least, bobbing their head.

but i stopped spamming my trax about 3 years ago, because
whatever, i have an ego to uphold. and you internet hacsorz
would ruin my self esteem.

no seriously, i just don't have any webspace to spam you
