im with pete, the dancing and the cocaine scene are great. i
think this is funny. something that always made me like
aphex stuff was the humor. glad to see he's still got that.

aphex has little to do with it except supplying the music,
though?

or did I miss something?

you've just reminded me of a chris morris sketch where he is
parodying a crimewatch type program, where an old lady had
sent in some "amusing footage" of a baseball attack she
filmed from her window of her house , where every strike of
the bat co-incided with each chime of her cuckoo clock.

I guess you're right. hmph..

Also, I remember reading a couple years ago that it was Chis
playing the part of Johnny, dobbin.

as far as I know, it's Cunningham himself.

I remember reading how Anton Corbijn, the photographer, was
interviewing him on the set of Rubber Johnny and he couldn't
stop laughing at Cunningham sitting there in the wheelchair
with all the prosthetics on.

prosthetic penis.. well I never..!

Coffee Break Quiz Time

Jay Kay has stumbled drunkenly onto the set of Chris
Cunnighams new Aphex video, but which is Rich?

you can normally pick Kay out quite easily. try to plug an
electrical appliance into the nose - if it fits, it's the
git from Jamiroquai.

yet underdeveloped aspects of the the film.

i got the thing yesterday, and i've seen four or five times
now. i liked the beginning/intro, where his dad is trying to
figure out what johnny wants. but i was expecting a bit more
mutant-morphing stuff, like the pictures in the book. There
are of course some really great scenes: the wheel-spinning
and the snorting and the scenes where his dad checks on him.
excellent stuff.

7/10

well, i was dissapointed. its taken what like 3 years too
make. It is hell nifty and sweet presise editing and all but
its basically a music video. I was so hoping for a short
narrativebased film. Yeah the mutant shiftiong was more like
heres part of johnnys arm in darness with a mirror effect
going on.

Rubber Johnny is fucking cool but a big dissapointment.

After watching it slowed down, I appreciate it allot more.
The syncronized moments are great.
