not good ambient!!! ;-)

the year.

if you're someone who isn't looking forward to this album,
you're made up of homos.

it's good ambient, but nothing outstanding...even a bit
boring i'd say :) sorry

more experimental sounds good..a bit more abstract maybe..

there stuff sounds too same-y lately to really be called
experimental imo.

Not dissing them AT ALL. I love autechre. but you know, Im
not hearing much new stuff being done, just variations.

IMO

offline Bremzen from utrecht (Netherlands, The) on 2005-01-05 03:58 [#01445906]

but me loves them variations! :)

well, i'm just not really into ambient stuff, and i really
like draft and confield. and i think those albums are more
experimental then the ambient stuff (i think) you're
referring to. it's true that those two albums are not
experimental as such, just more then the ambient stuf....
blahblahblahohwell

oh, yeah, I wasnt trying to imply the ambient stuff was more
experimental.

the whole not experimental comment was a whole seperate
comment from the ambient comment.

and yeah, I love the variations too. just, nitpicking
really. nm me.

however, as time progressed, i think we established the fact
that we have different taste. that counts for something.
hurray!

ehm...

"we have different taste"
now THAT sounds really stupid....

Considering all the music you listen to, i find that comment
most strange...somehow i can't belive it even! :)

I agree they're getting a bit samey now. I mean, I love
Confield, but if you think of all their releases from 1998
to present, there hasn't been any particularly shocking or
surprising developements-not like the great shift from Tri
Repeatae to Chiastic Slide, or from Chiastic Slide to LP5,
for example. I'm not expecting them to completely change
their sound, but all their recent releases have had very
similar ideas and have all been decidedly abusive in some
way. Imo.

Yeah no kiddin. The price for the vinyl is ridiculous, and
most of that money is just for the case it's packaged in.

THIS IS NOT ABOUT THE BINDER OR MONEY IT'S ABOUT THE MUSIC!!

offline nacmat on 2005-01-05 11:56 [#01446343]

but its 40 pounds for the 10 vinyls right?

Yeah I know.

I don't see why anyone would wanna pay loads just for a
fancy vinyl sleeve. It's a wiser decision to buy the same
music for a lesser price, unless you prefer the quality of
vinyl over CD.

well, i usually prefer cds over vinyl, but i was a bit
scared this wouldn't come out on cd or regular vinyl so..

nacmat, i think this was the price for the 1st 12' and the
binder and the future releases are going to be cheaper..10
quid or so..

i think the most we can hope for is more washboards and
jugs, like those they used on Draft.

from:

The coal mining strikes
The Tube strikes
French lorry driver strikes
Lucky Strike cigarettes

people seem to forget gantz graf, that release was great and
is perfect to listen to as a whole. draft was a little
boring imo, they made a step back after having developed
towards harsher sounds for a long time before. if they put
their heart in the new stuff it's going to be great i reckon

i cant get excited until i know this is concrete. i really
think this (ot it - maybe IT is an acronym of I... T... -
Incunabula Two? hope so) will be such an interesting
release. cant wait to hear which direction theyve gone in,
and if not ill be a little upset.
