I wonder if I have anything at home. They finally took the
covers off the Post Box outside the hospital today.

Safety in numbers. Unions are vital to the everyman. I think
their significance will come to bear in the next few years
when the UK sees an economic downturn. Those who are members
of a union will be very glad of their existance.

Ceri, the NUS never, ever organises anything and it most
certainly doesn't push for strikes. In fact it keeps a lid
on any action. Its Labour controlled after all.

not strickyl fair, although to be honest I wouldn't call the
NUS a proper union.

Well when I was in uni the NUS stood in the way of doing
anything. They were so lame as well when it came to
organising opposition to fees. They could have been defeated
if the NUS wasn't dominated by New Labour careerists.

My uni NUS was shite that is fair. The only time you noticed
them was if there was a national campaign, and to be honest
it was always a bit of a damp squib.

The age of the inactivist is upon our bloated middle-class
comfortable souls and it sucks. I wan tmilitant activism. I
really can't wait for the economy to go bust. I want to see
people out on the streets and giving a shit for a change.

Well look around matey. Here's a few things to perk you up:

Feb 15th was the biggest political demonstration in British
history.

The posties have just one the first unofficial strike in
about 30 years and the firefighters are taking unofficial
action.

Bush is coming in two weeks and the Met are shitting it.
They put expected figures at 60,000 and they ALWAYS play
them down.

I think we're definitley entering a new period and I don't
think I'm being blindly optimistic.

I fully support the firefighters. They're semi-striking -
doing nothing for their employers, yet still serving the
public. I know it doesn't have as much impact, but they have
my total support, because there's nothing unfair about what
they're doing.

Royal Mail aren't stupid enough to shit on them again just
yet. They'll wait until Christmas post is over before they
do it again.
