i was there, and although that review is a little harsh, im
inclined to agree with them on a few points. I can handle
noise etc (though im not a particular fan of it) but this
didnt seem to go anywhere, it was just continual distortion
noises that didnt seem to develop enough, so therefore
became boring and irritating. I did like the first part of
his set though, before the noise, it was very atmospheric
and interesting.

Bjork was absolutely amazing though, I totaly forgot about
afx when she came on. I think her performance rates as one
of the best I have ever seen!

i would probably agree with everything in that except the
comments about him being stale after 1996 and drukqs being
awful. and for the record, bjork and aphex are pretty much
tied for my #1 favorite artists with radiohead, and i have a
massive collection of releases from all three.

showing contempt for your audience--and in this case richard
knew his audience wasn't there to listen to whitehouse or
anything else EXTREME--will do you no good. if this was all
done on purpose to get publicity or to throw a middle finger
up at bjork and her audience, well fuck richard too. and
that's coming from a bigger fan than a lot of you.

i went to see orbital and the crystal method were opening
and i hated them despite how MELODIC thier music is so
imagin listening to distortion
certain music is not made for open wide spaces and just made
for indoors

Doesn´t Bjork know what RDJ´s DJ set are like? I saw him
play ambient stuff once, but that was a live set back in
2000. The past few years hes being DJing extreme stuff.
....You get want you asked for (Bjork, not Bjork fans... i
can understand some shock on their behalf but ya can´t
expect an artist to suddenly change his style for the
benefit of the viewer. Would Picasso paint watercolours
because a gallery that hung them was showing his abstract
stuff? I think not)

of course not, why do we listen to this kind of music? my
problem with his set was that it wasnt very good, plain and
simple! to me it was just a bit dull
